If there is one thing I wish Giants did differently for FS22 regarding gamepad / joystick controls setup ...
Give us an option so that the game does not bind keys by default ... PLEASE!
It´s really annoying to have to unbind everything when you hook up a gear stick to the game that gets random controls assigned to it all over controls menu!
Hopefully the next version of the game will also have better support for more than two controllers ...
Some of us like to use steering wheel / gear stick AND twin joysticks ... at least ...

Re: FS22 Default controls DISABLE OPTION!?
the very first thing I have to do with a new farm sim is unbind everything, as I am a right handed person from before the advent of WASD when it was popular to use your mouse in your left hand as you would use your joystick with your right hand.
so I have to bind everything for an arrow key setup left mouse and my wheel, peddles and joystick.
i.e. from left to right:
mouse, wheel and keyboard, gearstick then joystick

Two controllers? Im using wheel and pedal set, side panel, joystick, gear shift, and controller with no issues. And keyboard and mouse
Playing on PC and PS4
Re: FS22 Default controls DISABLE OPTION!?
I can recommend using Joy2key or similar to bind your joysticks, wheels and gear shifters. That way you can simply leave the default key bindings (delete the device ones, leaving just the keyboard and mous controls) then setting up joy2key with whatever keys you want to map to your controller. The benefit is a more stabile system, and you can have multiple profiles and switch by a simple mouse click (or even bind it to a button if you want). I have one profile for joystick driving, acc and brake, one for front loaders, one for gps work, on for gearing etc etc
A lot of the time, I can use a universal profile for most functions, but for special cases I can switch to a different one completely hassle free. Highly recommended

In addition to that it's quicker to clean the inputbindings.xml than unbind from the ingame menu.
Yep I had to do it a lot, when you have mods like "simpleIC" messing all the bindings.
I told myself to look at Joy2key but not brave enough, or i'm just dumb, sometimes I ask myself ^^
Cheers

Re: FS22 Default controls DISABLE OPTION!?
I just reinvested in new steering wheel and new joysticks (the old ones where worn out).
As I was setting these up I found a work around for my old problem ...
Plugging them in one by one and deleting all the default bindings (on all of them) before starting to assign new bindings.
I noticed it is important to keep using the same USB ports when you have two identical joysticks or the game will have them mixed up ...

Re: FS22 Default controls DISABLE OPTION!?
Would it be an option to plug them all into a hub and then just plug that in?
