ModHub menus too slow
ModHub menus too slow
So for FS22, the modhub needs a serious overhaul. Going through the menus on FS19, the loading times are unbearable. I click a mod and it goes straight to it. But the when I push the button to leave and continue browsing, it hangs... for several minutes. It's almost like a throw back to a dial up connection.
Giants, please fix this.

Even the best PC spec ain't gonna fix the problem...

Gotta love the ingame Modhub… slow as molasses sometimes, other times it opens lickety split.

I actually don't experience it as bad on pc vs console.
1300 acre farm, finish out just about 10,000 hogs a year, 200 cattle, and xbox one and pc user.

The more items there are, the slower the menu seems to be.

Re: ModHub menus too slow
For me it’s works relatively ok if I access right after loading the game for the first time.
If I go to access it after I’ve played some then it takes bloody ages to load. I found that alternating quickly between different menus (achievements or tutorials) and the mod hub seems to unfreeze it after a bit. But then still agonisingly slow selecting items etc.

Re: ModHub menus too slow
It happens to me too on PC.
I've observed that there's a delay when opening categories with a lot of mods, like trailers.
I'm assuming this has to with the amount of mod entries the game has to load, so it's freezing till it has loaded all of them.
There are ways to overcome this technically and I hope Giants has taken care of this on FS22.

Re: ModHub menus too slow
I've started doing my research on mods I want on my laptop, and only using ModHub for the actual download. (Hey, my crops are going to whither waiting on that "back" click...)

Re: ModHub menus too slow
I use the website for downloading mods since it's loads easier to navigate, then if I need to update mods I use the ingame ModHub. And that's if I can get into the ingame ModHub. Most of the time it's a dice roll whether I get in or not, and I have to land the dice on a vertice to get in

Re: ModHub menus too slow
It must just be my console but it's pretty good for me, just as quick as 17. I went onto 17 the other day and went into the modhub and it was pretty quick. I find aslong as I get into it once I boot up the game then it's pretty good. And when I want to exit from a mod I've started to download I wait for the back word to highlight a little bit. It's not to obvious but it will illuminate very slightly when the mod is installed. Maps I leave alone because I can't exit until they install, otherwise it's not to bad, max 30 seconds tops of waiting. That's what I think the getting out of a certian mod problem is .

Re: ModHub menus too slow
Currently for me on pc the ingame modhub is a complete waste of time.
Re: ModHub menus too slow
For me it depends on the time of day when I log into the in game modhub. If I try and log in between 1200-1800 EST speed and ease of access can be very slow. If I'm logging in later in the evening it seems to be pretty quick most of the time. I"m guessing it has to do with the number of people logging in.
Have been playing FS since FS 2011 came out and still going strong.
