Weights in FS22

Post by faruk9154 »

The weights of machinery and equipments are indicated on the Fact Sheets every Friday. What effect will these weights have on the game? Do you think there will be a blog post about it? Farming Simulator enthusiasts, I'm curious about your thoughts on this. :geeknew:

Loader handling and controlling trailer/implement weight, traction I think is affected(?).

For trailers there will be an option in the settings to turn on/off realistic weight.
Each trailer now has a max allowable and an empty weight. If setting is turned on, you might not be able to fill some trailers completely with heavier materials. Even wheat might be to heavy.

If setting is off, any trailer behaves just like in now/previous FS versions.

Yes, this is known. However, it should not be limited to this.

Apart from weight limits, I cannot thing of something else.

For example now you could fill a trailer with 50k litres of wheat and use the same trailer to fill 50k litres of lime.
In real life you'd most probably destroy the trailer and maybe break the truck with 150 tons of lime.

Did you have any other thoughts?

Soil compaction would be a great idea.
Axle number, tyre width, tracks, tillage depending on compaction would also need to be considered

I don't thing we'll get that in the base game.
Perhaps someone will mod these, or maybe version 2 of Precision Farming.

I never got around to trying it out but we did have this mod for 19.

And forgot to mention rate of acceleration in there (And that’s assuming GIANTS haven’t added compaction or anything)

Weights always been there. Silage compacting for example will go way faster/better with a heavy tractor than a light one. Also wheelspin(traction) as affected when pulling implements like plows and cultivators.

I have it visible in the hud in FS19 (tractor weight/total weight).

The mod I use is called TSX-EnhancedVehicle and is available on modhoster and/or Github.

I installed this mod for the differential-locks and that it shows the damage level of all attached implements.
