Spinnery Area Crashing the Game on Haut Beyleron
Re: Spinnery Area Crashing the Game on Haut Beyleron
And still 2 months on from the game release, still no word from anyone at Giants what this error even means, what the cause of it is, how to fix it? That's got to be super frustrating for those of us that have paid for the game and aren't able to play it without this crashing issue. Surely at some point Giants owe it to us customers to provide us with a solution to this so we can use the product we have paid for and purchased?

It sounds like an obvious question, but have you or anyone else reported it on the Bug Tracker?cwattyeso wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:35 am And still 2 months on from the game release, still no word from anyone at Giants what this error even means, what the cause of it is, how to fix it? It appears so from earlier in the thread.

Or at the very least provide some feedback, maybe when one of the community team are next on promoting something they may see this........

There's a lot of angry indignation in this forum about "what I have paid for" but in this case I think you are entirely justified in your complaint: You should AT LEAST have an acknowledgment of the issue and some idea of what the underlying issue is. I've tried to provoke the same error so that I can make the same bug report but haven't been able to.cwattyeso wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:35 am And still 2 months on from the game release, still no word from anyone at Giants what this error even means, what the cause of it is, how to fix it? Re: Spinnery Area Crashing the Game on Haut Beyleron
Ah yes, I see it now.
I've just tried it twice and couldn't reproduce. Followed exactly the same path as cwattyeso followed in his video with no crashing and sign of instability or errors in the console. The only mod I had enabled at the time was cheatsPlayerWalkspeedReset so I wasn't running super-fast with cheats enabled.
What platform are you on cwattyeso? If you're on PC are you running some shaders or something or is it the recording? I only ask as your screen looks weird, like everything is massively over-sharpened. If you are running shaders does it still happen if you disable them?
Very late edit: of course you're on PC - you used the dev console in your video!

Some decent communication would go a long way, I am sure very few of us would have expected a release with zero issues but the lack of feedback from Giants just makes the situation worse.blue_painted wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:58 am

If they can't recreate it and it's not happening for everyone then they probably won't look further until many more people who do experience it report it through the Bug Tracker.norfolk farmer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:46 pm Some decent communication would go a long way, I am sure very few of us would have expected a release with zero issues but the lack of feedback from Giants just makes the situation worse.
You're right though, communication has been pretty shocking since the game's release. The key thing is the core things wrong with the game get sorted (and the Christmas deadline was tight - too tight), but now we've left the holidays season behind us, spending 5 minutes a day (or even 10-15 minutes a week) updating a "known issues" list would go a long way to helping us know what is or isn't being addressed and perhaps whether more evidence is needed for x or y.
Stegei posts occasionally, MrMarcel is pretty active on a Discord server I'm on and other than the odd news piece, fact sheets and mod testing updates and the odd Twitter post the three members of the community team (Lars, Chris and Kermit) have been almost completely absent since the game was released, both here and on Discord.

That for me would be a good starting point surely it's not that much to ask, after all if you are going to have a " community team " then they are there to communicate with us and not just promote things.this_is_gav wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 1:03 pm

I cant answer for him. But for myself it happens at default. I even moved from a 6700K/Z170 16GB DDR4 with RTX 3080 FE system on Windows 10 to a clean install with a 12700K/Z690 32GB DDR5 with RTX 3080 on Windows 11. Same crash, same place.this_is_gav wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:03 pmAh yes, I see it now.

Is it every time you visit?
Re: Spinnery Area Crashing the Game on Haut Beyleron
Every single time. Location of crash varies a bit, but its the same area.
Re: Spinnery Area Crashing the Game on Haut Beyleron
I'm not running any shaders, was just using some options in Geforce Experience to increase object details and intensity of details, which might be why it appeared sharpened in the video. Certainly have not done anything to modify any of the game files or settings in any way which would cause the issue. Any effects in the video are post processing effects added either by GeForce as Overlays or OBS as Filters during the recording.this_is_gav wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 12:03 pm What platform are you on cwattyeso? I apologise if I had "Angry Indignation" in my earlier post, but when you've bought the game via Giants own site, you've bought the game on Steam and you've bought the Physical Collector's Edition, and none of them are working as advertised and have a pretty major game-breaking issue then I probably have right to be a little bit miffed and somewhat disgruntled. If I was one of the 'Favoured' Giants Partners who got gifted everything for free and don't pay a dime for the game, then maybe I'd be able to sit here and stomach the issue and suffer in silence. However whilst I'm over £200 out of pocket and don't have a flawless perfect working version of the game yet, I'm going to remain annoyed until Giants and their Team of Programmers and QA Testers can come up with something of a resolution.
Like I say I would just love it if someone from Giants could come out and explain what "Error: failed to create placed resource (BufferPool)" means in actual real English Speak and what is causing it for those of us who are experiencing the issue. Where is the communication from the Community Team?

I really didn't mean you, I was referring to the drive-by posters whose ill-spelt an ungrammatical posts cause so much fluttering. I'd day you have been patient well beyond what anyone or any company should expect.cwattyeso wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 2:52 pm (snip)
