What could they mean?

I spotted some of those. I just wrote it off to an artist’s tag or Easter egg, but I’ll admit I didn’t spend a lot of time pondering it.

It could be a collectible. Each map has hidden collectibles. If you're near one, you'll see an option to collect it by pressing the indicated button on your HUD.

You get 1000 Credits for each. There are 100 on that Map. In Elmcreek they are wooden Toys.

I've seen them. I enjoy them. On elmcreek/haut they are just graphic, non-interactable, i blieve.

It's a tag on the wall, not an object, but I do recall seeing them near the locations of the collectibles.
