Electrical and Methane Prices - and the BGA

Post by dan1108 »

So, these commodities don't have their price indicated in the price lists, however they are very important. Why? If you purchase a BGA, it appears that this is how you get paid, and the silage price is no longer relevant. However, the prices seem to fluctuate like all other crops and commodities in the game, and it's important to use your BioGas Plant only when prices are good (not the highest because self owned BGAs are slow, much slower than in FS19 IIRC) - else it could take over a decade to pay off.

Does anyone know of a console command to show the prices of all crops/commodities, which also might include some of the hidden ones like methane or electricity? Digestate is another hidden crop price, because the BGA will indeed sell your digestate if you wish - we have no idea what the price is and if you are getting a ~35% delivery charge as well.

Late to the party, but I ran a little test to see what's up so here goes.
Easy mode - placed a single silage bale 6000L.
Output was 1825L of digestate, 2730$ Biogas Plant income and -38$ production cost. That's a little less than 455$ per 1000L.
The price of Silage at that exact moment was 495$ on the BGA and about 470$ on the livestock market.

There's no financial reason whatsoever to purchase the BGA, it's a total failure as an investment.
