Stuck pallet

Post by Miggs »

Was loading a pallet of tomatos by hand and accidentally hit right mouse and threw it.
Now it is stuck half in and half out of the ground in the middle of my yard, and I cannot move it at all.
Any ideas how to get rid of it? :confusednew:

Just thought, would I be able to use the editor to remove it?

I found using a front loader and pallet fork works well to remove stuck pallets.

This happens all too frequently. I've also noticed if you try using sprint while holding a pallet by hand it will cause your character to flip into the air along with your pallet and when the pallet lands it gets stuck into the ground.

Pallets on the large greenhouse also sometimes just randomly spawn stuck in the ground as well.

There are several threads on the pallet issue. I seem to remember someone saying you can use the editor to raise the height of the stuck pallet. I'm on PS4 - we don't have an editor so I didnt pay much attention to it.

front loader didn't work, so reloaded a save from a half hour previous.
Thanks anyway.

I have five stuck pallets now. My most recent one I got launched into the middle of my hay field. It's now stuck in the ground. I'm occasionally getting thrown in the air when carrying pallets and its a pretty silly feature of FS22

I was fairly regularly getting one pallet of honey a day/month from my bees, then suddenly, after I'd collected the morning's honey two more appeared, one stuck. The next morning three stuck ones appeared, I sold the honey collection point and moved it while I spent a bunch of time ramming the stuck pallets with a pallet fork on a front loader. :/

If you are on pc, open the vehicle.xml using notepad++, find the guilty party (its best if you have a couple of the same pallet to compare it to), and raise the height to match the ones not stuck. It will the the second position number. For example I had to raise a couple honey pallets and the line I changed looked like this.
position="201.63528442383 85.140801086426 177.66554260254"

I had to change it to this as its the height of all the ones not stuck.
position="201.63528442383 85.250801086426 177.66554260254"

Save the xml and launch your game and they should be sitting there right as rain. Also, dont forget to make a backup of any .xml before you edit in case you change something you hadn't intended.

I bought a pallet of Poplar seedlings to use as my reference pallet. Roughly the same size and it is the only one I have. It makes it easier, for me, to find which pallet is stuck. Place the Poplar pallet next to the stuck one then do a save game. Then when you are looking at the .XML you can compare your "easier to find Poplar pallet" and compare the first and last Position groups to see which match up the closest. They should almost match. Then you can edit the middle number of your stuck one to raise it.

I only recommend this because trying to figure out which pallet of honey or lettuce is stuck when you have like 10 of them can be a little challenging.

when using notepad++ you can use the search function for say, honey pallets. Then "tab" between the entries until you find the culprit(s).. makes short work of it.

I had one get stuck earlier and instead of using the xml I tried to handle it in game.. before its said and done my forklift is stuck, forks first in the ground, springing around like a psycho.. in the end the fendt 1000 with a loaded lime spreader was needed to dislodge it in the most insane way possible. It started next to the silo and ended up flying to the south of the farm where you can rent the train (Elm Creek).. I think I will either stick with the xml changes or get a suggested mod that seems to line the problem out until it gets patched.. on the upside, my honey was sitting properly on the forks when I retrieved it like I had picked it up and was fixing to load it on the trailer.
