Well I noticed someone saying the following:

The hint they have means: as if.
What if the next dlc is just Kubota equipment?

Nevertheless it still seems to be a poor decision to just get a second batch of small(er) tractors as paid DLC as we just had a bunch of those recently in the last paid DLC. No matter who did make that call be it Kubota or GIANTS I am still not convinced it was a wise decision. Kubota has such a big range of products - why not showcase them as well? It is absolutely not important whose fault it was, it is interesting whether it IS a fault being made. I am not comfortable with the equipment picks whilst I welcome the new brand.

Whilst I do not endorse buying blind I still can understand people buying a seasons pass and getting small tractors only in two draws becoming a bit upset. I mean, If you want to encourage people to buy season passes, you should not dish out the same stuff over and over. People might lose interest in buying a second season pass.

I have no doubt we will see Giants follow suit with a Year 2 Season Pass. Their former publisher Focus Entertainment done that with Snow Runner and Saber Interactive.

I never understood why people pay for vehicles and equipment when there's a modhub with plenty of free stuff.

The reason people pay for dlc is generally because they want it. Every version of the game since FS13 I have bought every single dlc. Whats that saying variety is the spice of life!! You either like it or you dont. You either buy it or you dont. Its called freedom of choice. When you choose to buy a Season Pass you dont know what you are getting so basically you are stuck with it whether you want it or not or whether you like it or not. Its a gamble you take.

I think that the scope for a potential DLC that would be widely regarded as good is rapidly shrinking. DLCs will only appeal to certain segments of the players. So far I haven't been too disappointed with them. Cool small Italian specialist tractors, and now Kubota. Sure, they could have included some implements to round them out, but that's not something I think worth me complaining about.

Given what we have, what do people actually want to see in a DLC?

Personally I would appreciate an array of older Fendt, Deutz, & MB tractors and vehicles. The old square Fendt 900, the next generation 400, & 800, a few old air-cooled Deutz-Fahr tractors, the MB-Trac, and the Unimog. Heck, I'd be excited about a Unimog DLC! A few different generations of Unimog, with different configurations and options like mounted sprayers and spreaders.

I can already hear the complaints about the DLCs if I were to magically be in charge of selecting their content.

I doubt that make an ounce of difference. We complain anyway if Giants give us a dlc and we feel there is not enough content in the dlc to justify the cost so what difference would it make if we magically put you in charge??? Unless you give it to us for free. Then again you still get people complaining even though its free. Mods are free and certain individuals complain about them even though they are free. People complain because its human nature to complain. If its free you just say thank you and say no more, but if you pay for something up front and dont know what you are getting for your money well in advance you have every right to feel disappointed.

Yeah, true. I was clumsily trying to make the point that we all like different stuff, and the things that a lot of people whinge about are enjoyed by many.

What you are saying is entirely true. We are all unique in our individual way. We all like different things then again some people like the same things, but for different reasons. If we all liked the same thing it would be a boring world. We talk about the things we like and get passionate about them and then like to moan about the things we dont like. Its like a two sided coin. Ying and yang. You cant have one without the other. Its like having a blessing and a curse at the same time. Its called being human.

IMHO a Season Pass is worse than a loot box, and worse than buying a lottery ticket.
With loot boxes and lottery tickets, you're at the mercy of randomness.
With DLC, somebody at Giants is deciding exactly what to give you. Its worth to them is not always the same as it is to you.
You shouldn't complain about what you get in a Season Pass, but rather about your decision to make a blind purchase.

Imagine Giants decision makers sitting around a table debating which tractor to put on the modhub for free, and which tractor to put in a paid DLC. Then ask yourself, would I pay for a new car if you could get a new car for free?

There wouldn't be a modhub with free stuff if nobody paid. So instead of trying to understand it just be thankfull.

Don’t kid yourself, loot boxes aren’t random. You can also buy a season pass after the dlcs have been released as well so I’m not sure what would make them worse other than being impatient. You’ll need a better argument than that if you want it to be taken seriously

I think it was pretty clear I was talking about purchasing a Season Pass before the contents are known.

I am thankful, very thankful, for the effort and talent modders put into the content they share with us for free.
I don't understand your statement "There wouldn't be a modhub with free stuff if nobody paid." though.

GIANTS has to make money to be able to afford to run the Modhub and give out incentives to modders.

Also remember that some/many people buy all of the DLC’s anyway (Or enough that it probably isn’t any more expensive or is cheaper) Season Pass anyway makes sense for them.
FS15 & FS19 Platinum Edition PC (and War Thunder, Gaijin is way worse than GIANTS ever has been accused of being)
