Rennebu Discussion and reports

Post by olahaldor »

The map and buildings pack has finally been released in an acceptable and playable state! :)

This is my first map, three years in the making! It is not a completed project, there will be updates later on to add more production points, farms and buildings to make the map feel more alive and crowded. :)

Between now and when an update is ready, you have the chance to report bugs, errors and suggest improvements :)

Please report through GitHub
https://github.com/MapsOfNorway/rennebugs

I am planning to release a little PDF with info about the key locations on the map when I get back from vacation. :)

Feel free to discuss, share screenshots, videos and the like here!

I know you were active on the AD discord during the development of this map; do you have an AD route that you could post either there or on the github? Thanks for the great work on this lovely map!

The map looks good and major props for posting a thread asking for feedback. I wish more modders did this.

Hello Olahaldor and Chaki
You think we can see this map coming on consoles?
Thank you for your response

Won't come to console as it's a 8x8 map

From what I’ve read it seems to me that with the new engine the size is not necessarily a criterion for a map not to pass on console
But maybe the information wasn’t good

Thanks to you

Well, they have had an earlier version of it in for console testing.

And, they have a nice talk about maps and consoles in one of the podcasts (5ish episodes back?)

Short version :
Size isn't the limiting factor, details is.
So you can in theory have a 16x map on console, just flat and without mutch detail.

They also said that unless the maker of the mods that are being tested request it, they test all mods (except scripts) for console too

I've played the map for about 2 hours. My only complaint is that it takes a while to save. I assume this is a FS22 issue due to the size of the map.

That is exactly why it takes a while.

I started to play a little bit on this massive map. I began to make silage on the starter farm but I can't figure out how to take silage out of the fermenting silo. Grateful for any help.

At the same spot, bring a trailer and you will be able to load it :)

Would you please consider releasing the buildings pack on console. (If possible) We can't play on your map, but would be nice to have the buildings.

I wish it was possible to just flip a switch.
There are a few things that need to change, both art and technical. The technical part is the most demanding time wise. Not impossible, but.. it'll take time.

Definitely on my list to do.

I understand, thank you and looking forward to it maybe in the future.
