Silverrun files locked - no way to edit the map

Dlc`s are typically locked for modding for a certain time. Lets call it a game creators patent to protect its investment.. Giants want to sell platinum dlc`s, If modders could get it straqight away, giants wouldent make any money. After a while, maybe in the next game or so, all dlc features will be "open" for modding AFAIK

They could make it a requirement to have the DLC to use that mod. Like the Kubota passenger feature or like many mod maps do in ETS2.

They already make it a requirement to use the DLC's features. Mod vehicles that support passengers can be used without the Kubota DLC. You only need that for the passenger support. A sawmill that outputs both normal and long planks should still work without the DLC, but you will only get normal planks and not the long ones.

It is also illegal to crack the dlc.
