[FS22] Error: failed to create placed resource (BufferPool)

Well, it seems that this crash happen randomly on FR map Haut-Beleyron (viewtopic.php?f=963&t=182883) but with my configuration on Calmsden Farm this happen all the time on the loading process.

This error : Error: failed to create placed resource (BufferPool)

If you also get this error on the standard maps then it would probably be best to report this directly to GIANTS via their bug tracker so that the developers can have a look and figure out how to fix this: viewtopic.php?f=964&t=168424

Ok, I have possibly found a solution that have worked at least for me.

Step 1
Delete the shader_cache directory in your C:\Users\[...]\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022 directory.

Step 2
Start the game and go to graphical options and then set the hardware Profile to high

Do the same with the Advanced Graphics Settings
Image

You have to avoid any further customization at this stage. The goal here is to be able to start the game without any crash in order to rebuild the shader_cache directory.

Step 3
Restart your game and then create a new save with any vanilla map or modhub map of your choice. You can start in Farm Manager or New Farmer.
Once you are in game (hopefully you will) walk a little and then quit the game.

Step 4
Do only the fine tuning at this point. For me for example I have the DLSS activated in quality mode.

From reading the original thread I don't believe as yet they have responded to the original bug report which has been done. Maybe if we had a half decent form of communication from Giants on here then they could have responded to the original post.

Hi,
Yep already did but the case was closed by QA Team without further investigation because it happened only for sure on Calmsden which is a modded map.
This issue is quite hard to reproduce on vanilla map.

Hmm.. This started happening for me today/yesterday trying to harvest a field on Calmsden (for the first time with a non-potato harvester, bizon mod). Game just freezes up while driving the harvester and eventually I kill it because it doesn't respond.. Not sure if this error is the root cause, but curious that it's the last thing I see in the game log.txt at least. And the only other log from the time being is "dataS/character/animals/wild/deer/deerAdult.i3d (31.49 ms)".. And I've seen plenty of deer elsewhere without that being an issue..

Can you tell us if the procedure (delete shader cache, reset graphics settings, ...) has fixed your issue ?

When I was testing out with crashes I was alt-tabbing and letting the game sit around while doing other stuff.. Will retry and save often and see if I reproduce first yet again.. Then I'll test the procedure..

Reproduced a couple of times more.. Didn't get log entry with deer spawning other time I checked logs but same error..

Haven't reproduced yet with high graphic settings after deleting shader cache, but game has been rock solid up to now, so I suspect the culprit is combination of some very high settings, and the Bizon harvester mod I'm using, as it's the first time I'm using this harvester, and I have not seen the crash when I haven't been using it.. But will at least complete this field in high settings to verify it doesn't reproduce at high settings. Not gonna keep those settings if it can be avoided though ;)

Worked with high settings.. Could this error just be a memory allocation error vs VRAM? You get into a situation where the game needs to assign more memory and there is none, so it fails?
I've pushed my limits upping draw distance past what you can configure in game, so I might be testing limits..

Sounds like a cop out as it has been a thing way before mod maps appeared .
