Getting lag with joystick plugged in

Hi all, I managed to fix the micro stutters when looking left and right. The game runs fairly smooth...here is the issue however...I need to have my Logtech X3D Extreme unplugged for it to be smooth. Never had this issue with 1.2. I have downloaded the latest drivers for the joystick with same results. Is there anything I need to do to get the joystick working AND have smooth game play? Its a night and day difference with having the joystick plugged in via USB and not plugged in. However need to have it back on for the buttons and front loader controls. This is so annoying.
