Mac OS 10.14 lag

Post by Poopyshoe69 »

I have the same issue with FS2017. Ever since I upgraded my OS to Mojave I have experienced lots of lag on 2017. I figured since Giants came out with FS2019 they never updated FS2017 to work with OS Mojave. Only now that I have purchased FS2019 I have learned that this was not made for the newer OS either. Is there some fix coming to make FS2019 compatible with OS Mojave 10.14. I have a late 2014 Mac mini with a 3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, and the Intel Iris 1536 MB. This runs all my other simulators on high settings. would hate to call this my last farm sim since all my other sims require the OS Mojave 10.14 to run properly.

I use a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina, running Mojave 10.14.2 with an inbuilt Nvidia GT650M 1Gb video card and I have no issues, getting 30FPS when run under Windows/Bootcamp and 30-40FPS when running in Mac OS-X Mojave 10.14.2.

For me, I find that FS19 runs more smoothly with higher-quality 3D settings under Mojave than FS17 did and have put this down to the game utilising the new "Metal" capabilities in Mojave - as FS19 is written for the newer operating system.

The game will not run at all if I use/switch to the secondary inbuilt Intel 1.5Gb video this MacBook Pro has, as this video card just doesn't have the capabilities.

In your log is "Level: Low (forced)" - does the Intel Iris have the capabilities to efficiently run this game??

Edit 1: grammar.

I'm running both FS17 and FS19 on an iMac (see specs in my signature) without any issues on macOS 10.14.4 (Mojave)

I think the most likely cause of your issue is most likely the "Intel Iris 1536 MB" graphics card, which is actually an on-board graphics chip that uses the computers main memory as video RAM and is therefore not really suited for gaming.

So your telling me that when I was running OS 10.13 and playing 2017 with high setting and having no issues or lag and now with OS 10.14 I can’t play 2017 on low without getting lots of lag is because of my video card somehow got worse during the update? It’s odd since all my other sims play even better with higher settings since the update.

I have no problems on a 2016 imac 2.8 i5 dual, ?graphics, etc. on MEDIUM settings.

But lately with Courseplay sometimes I get lagging bad, check the log and it is HUGE, like 150MB, it might a mod but w/o courseplay I have no problems with the log growing. I run about 25 mods.

Minimum requirements:
64bit Mac OS X 10.13
Intel Core i3-2100T @2.5GHz or AMD FX-4100 @3.6GHz or better
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics card or better (min 2GB VRAM, Metal support)
4 GB RAM
20 GB free hard drive space

An Intel Iris Graphic card is well below system requirement.

Is that for 2019 or 17. Would explain why 2019 plays poorly, does not explain why 17 plays poorly.
