GIANTS Software - Forum

I played FS several years ago just on the pc. Now I am trying to play FS17 thru steam. I can play the game on my iMac, Safari 12.1.
I can also play it on my laptop Windows 10.
My problem is that when I try to download and install mods I can never find the proper location to place the downloaded content (3rd Party).
Several online forums list file trees and locations that do not seem to exist on either of my machines.
What am I doing wrong??
