My computer isn't up to the job of playing FS19
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie virtual farmer and enjoying playing the sim. YouTube videos have taught me
that my 10 year old computer isn't cutting the mustard. I'm using the lowest graphics settings
possible at resolution 1366 x whatever (16:9) and it's 'just playable' because the frame rate can
drop to 15 if the world gets too busy and the scenery could look better.
My current system specs:
Intel Core i5-4400 @ 3.10 Ghz
RAM 16GB
Nvidia GeForce GT630 2GB
The reading I've done says to me the graphics card is the weakest
link in this chain. Interested to hear from anyone but particularly
anyone whose system is similar to mine but with a better
graphics card and how it plays. Don't want to spend many hundreds
on a new computer if I can avoid it. Don't play any other games.

Yep, your GeForce is the limiting factor for sure.
I'm on a 2012 i5 with also 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1060 and FS19 (and other games) run smoothly.
So you're good with just a few bucks for a more recent GPU.

Thanks s8080t,
I'll save some pennies over the next few weeks and get the GTX1060.

If you’re looking for a new card it’s been replaced by the GTX16 series.wheyayeman wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 11:47 am Thanks s8080t,

Highly unlikely you will be able to run either of those with your current power supply, both need 6 pic connectors iirc
Re: My computer isn't up to the job of playing FS19
Even my power supply from 2012 has everything needed :>
And if his does not, GPUs usually come with adapters for the usual power outlets.

Genarally power supplies are specced for the system they are going into, just because you can use a molex adapter or similar doesn't mean you should. PSU could be low watts or stuff quality

Well, well..
We'll probably never now if this is the case here

I stuck my nose into the case and the PSU is a Pulse Power model PPS-500BR 500 watts

From an image search, you have no power connectors for a gpu so either go with something like a gtx1050 ti or gtx 1650, other option is a beefier graphics card and new power supply

Re: My computer isn't up to the job of playing FS19
Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions. I was clueless about graphics
cards before, but a bit wiser for visiting this place.
I went for a used GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. £140GBP. I watched YT videos of people playing various
games using it and I think it will serve my FS needs well enough.
I'll be as excited as a 5 year old on Christmas Eve come next Thursday.

Yeah, that should run it fine. I've got a second machine with a GT1030 and it runs FS19 fine on medium settings. It'll be a massive difference over your GT 630!

You were not kidding.
Delivered today and installed (with a few hiccups both mechanical and windows related)
but the difference is stark. In multiplayer on the FSN version of Seneca County before upgrade
driving about the farmyard where the vehicles are stored was a nightmare, due to low framerate.
Now it's 100x smoother. Looking forward to playing this weekend.
