Lights cannot be turned on without engine running

- PC/Mac/PS4/XB1: PC
- Vehicle/Tool/Model/Object: All vehicles
- Issue: Lights (including beacons and hazard warning lights) cannot be turned on without engine running (even if entered vehicle) and so cannot be left on if exiting the vehicle, which not always realistic- ie. if vehicle left close to (side of) road - is this a fault or "by design" ? Not major issue but would be good if this would be enabled.
- Single- or Multiplayer: Single
- Steps to reproduce: Always
- Does it happen on a standard map without mods yes/no: Yes

Hazard warning lights can actually be turned on without having the engine running ... so I guess it is by design!

Same in PS4.

I hope it is not because I don’t want to put engine hrs on a vehicle just to keep it’s surrounding lit up while I’m bringing an other vehicle. Just one example though. There are countless times you would need the lights on. That is way too weird if it is by design.

This is stupid design if true. Any vehicle you can flick the lights on anytime you want.

I agree, this is irritating. I normally just leave the lights on all the time. It helps light up the area around the farm. It would be extra helpful now as FS19 seems to be much darker at night. Even during the daytime it seems too dark at times.

It's probably also performance related, if you have 10 vehicles with lights on on your map and a weaker pc, it could easily affect your game.

This is probably the same "logic" as with the engine turning itself off ...
However PC players can fix this (the engine) by extending the time cap in one of the xml files.
