[READ] FS19 PC 1.2.0 - Multiplayer COOP Steering

Post by Loz_636 »

- PC/Mac/PS4/XB1: PC
- Vehicle/Tool/Model/Object: Any vehicle
- Issue: When using steering wheels, approaching full lock the wheels on the vehicle will flip full lock in the opposite direction
- Single- or Multiplayer: Multiplayer COOP
- Steps to reproduce: Start a new COOP game using G920 or Saitek/Logitech Farm wheel then try full steering lock
- Does it happen on a standard map without mods yes/no: Yes

Apologies if this is not a bug and I've missed something!

What do you mean with 'full steering lock', and with 'COOP'?

I presume co op and full lock is when you have the maximum turning angle, so all the way one way.

Don't drive fast when turning full. If you would do that with a car on the highway you'll also flip.

I think the issue is they are turning through the range of motion and once they get close to maximum range, the wheels of the tractor turn the fill way in the opposite direction. I'm guessing itay be a software setting though.

Exactly correct even when stationary the wheels flip the opposite direction.

Please tell me what I can change if you think this is a software issue?

Thanks

I tried this with a G29 here on my retail version but did not have an issue when steering all the way to the max left/right. Did you change anything in the Logitech Gaming Software settings or in the game settings regarding dead zones or similar? Maybe a screenshot of these settings would help.

Yes I have changed the dead zone from 14% to 2% to get better accuracy - I have not changed anything in the Logitech software other than steering centre force as it was far too heavy as default.
My uncle who has the saitek/Logitech farm sim wheel also has this issue when he hosts the co op game we tried both ways.
I’m at work now but will post you up a screenshot when I get home - thanks

So we have done a bit more testing and found out that as long as you both have the wheel sensitivity on 100% (deadzones do not matter) then the steering full locks are ok.

We then tried with us both having 125% but this failed and problem re occurred.

Is this the way the game is meant to be?

No, this is most likely a coding-Bug (going over Maximum value due to 125% sensitivity)

But right now I can't recommend using anything higher than 125% anyway, as the maximum steering speed of the vehicles is way to low. Even at 100% you can turn your wheel faster, than the tractor will follow. @ 125 or higher you will just amplify this problem. So stick with 100% until "both is fixed" I guess :)

Yes I noticed that too the wheels on the tractor can’t keep up with the steering wheel input when manoeuvring around.

I can also confirm this bug.

The problem only appears when i'm not the host. I had the issue some time ago when i joined a game, but the host didn't had any issues.
Last night one of my friends joined my game, and he experienced the exact same issue, while i had no problems as a host. When steering to either left/right hits maximum, the wheels of the tractor turns to the opposite direction, making some pretty chaotic scenes
