[SOLVED] [FS19] DFGT can't change force feedback force

Post by Dood »

- PC/Mac/PS4/XB1: PC
- Vehicle/Tool/Model/Object: All
- Issue: No matter what I change in the software to my wheel (Logitech Driving Force GT) the FFB force is the same, which is very strong and playing is not pleasant, tried reinstalling the drivers, but it worked fine in FS17 (I also have Logitech Extreme 3D pro plugged in)
- Single- or Multiplayer: Tested on Single, 99.9% multi also
- Steps to reproduce: Change FFB settings in Logitech Profiler, start game, start playing, exit game, change FFB settings, start game again, the wheel handling is the same
- Does it happen on a standard map without mods yes/no: yes

I created a new profile for FS19 in the Logitech software and it would not work.

FS17 one worked fine, settings are identical.

Added the FS19 executable to the FS17 profile and now the FFB works the same.

I had this same issue with my Logitech G920 in FS17.

My fix was to pull the power cord to get rid of all the FFB.
Later on I found a way to use a soft center spring feature by launching the Logitech software "ones inside the game" and pull the USB cord and attaching it again (also needed to turn the center spring function on and off ones in the Logitech software to get it to work).

Yes, basically did the same with FS17. Had to start FS17, then adjust in Logitech, alt-tab back to FS17 and it would work.
Tried this and many other things with FS19, does not work.

Workaround:
I did the FS17 solution, literally.
1. Start FS17
2. Alt-tab to Logitech, open settings of wheel and click OK
3. Alt-tab to FS17, force feedback is changed
4. Close FS17
5. Start FS19... works.

Yea, I found that this dirty fix did not work after rebooting my PC over night.

Was playing with the idea to go in to FS17 to "release" the stiffness ... but you already confirmed this to work.
But OMG ... I cant see myself doing that each time ... and keeping FS17 installed just to be able to play FS19 ...

I have done what asyvan mentions above.

It's as if the Logitec software does not see the mapped FS19 executable running.

However, I had an issue prior to this where the first vehicle I got on went into reverse until I pressed the brake. Plus the map would constantly zoom out. Setting the peddles to combined seemed to resolve this.

I am seeing responses from Lethian about 4 devices.

I have mouse and keyboard, naturally, plus a G29, peddles and shifter (I know we don't have gears and not worried about the shifter). I also have a Logitech 3D Pro joystick. Would you consider the wheel, peddles and shifter to be one device? (The peddles and shifter plug into the wheel so only one usb being used for all three)

The shifter is useful for a lot of things ...
I had all of the "gears" mapped for functions in FS17 ... cruise ctrl being one of them!
FS19 wont recognize two of the gears though.

For now I am just disconnecting the power cord to the wheel ones in the game ... and the FFB will be turned off. (wheel is still working through USB).

No gears you say ... still there are lines in the inputBindings.xml for gear shifting ... :this:

Having exact the same problem with my G29 wheel and pedals.

Using LogitechK 270 keyboard, Logiteck mouse M510, Logitech G13, Logitech G29, pedals, Logitech h-shifter and Speedlink Phantom hawk joystick. It all worked PERFECT at fs17... :!:

Using G29 and Saitek Side Panel.
Two main issues:
1. Force Feedback of the wheel (workaround exists)
2. Not able to map a function to a multi-button press.

Logitech G920 with shifter.

Also Noticed that button 6+7 on the shifter is not detected by the game and can not be mapped.

Hi!

Is this problem happening with the latest patch (1.1.2.0) as well? Please try the following: Close the game, delete your inputBindings file. Now start the game again and remap your device (don't use any old file!). Saving and restarting the game should now not reset any bindings/changes you just made. Make sure you don't unplug anything between the restarts. if you have more input devices connected (steering wheel combo + a gamepad for example) you could also try the following: Unplug the gamepad then delete the inputBindings, now start the game and map your steering wheel however you like. Save the changes and close the game, then replug your gamepad, start the game and remap any changes as well. Your settings should be saved now. Please get back to me if this helps or not, thanks!

Many of the buttons on my DFGT will not work in fs19. I am also having a major problem with my HPP pedals. Throttle cannot be mapped as throttle.

Please retry this with patch 1.1.3:
viewtopic.php?p=1052571#p1052571

If needed, please also install the newest software update for any logitech input devices you are using:
https://support.logitech.com/en_ch/software/lgs

After this all should be working like a charm ;)
