Obviously price is not just about the length as I can sell less lumber for more if it's cut to certain size/shorter pieces than to sell a whole tree.
Does anyone know the formula for maximum price?
Wood chips seem like waste of time as I sold 28 000L of chips for not even $5000
What's the trick?
How to sell lumber for the best price

Re: How to sell lumber for the best price
Not done any logging in 19 aside from clearing a few trees but in 17 I did some tests to figure this out and I worked out a floor price for chips (based on best price attainable for logs) and would easily get prices way above that to sell at (on hard). I prefer working with woodchips anyway as logs were too fiddly.
Re: How to sell lumber for the best price
They nerfed woodchips to 1/3 of FS17. I used to do woodchips as well because I found it easier to stockpile then sell at once. I read some stuff on reddit that best price is changed from fs17 and cut lengths are around 12m now. Its larger then what the lumber cut lengths go out to.
Re: How to sell lumber for the best price
Woodchips are actually terrible, I don't think they are worth the effort. But I was surprised that I got $10 000 for a small trailer full of smaller lumber leftovers and tree tops and $19 500 for a fligl trailer full of 12-14m logs so I don't think that longer is better now lol
