LIME!!!!

Post by Johndeereman4250 »

I am trying to boost yields on my farm. I see In the help portion of the pause menu about 25% boost when applying lime. Does that only mean you get boost when the lime required is turned on or off? Also with lime it says every 3 harvests but if I apply each year do I get 25% yield every year? I hope there isnโ€™t another topic on this if so I apologize

With lime on youโ€™ll get the boost for 3 harvests if you lime. So donโ€™t bother doing it each time. Off, it wonโ€™t count so no more or less.

If you turned the lime option on, then applied lime, you are exactly where you started. If you have the lime option turned off, it doesnโ€™t affect your yield. It only affects yeild if you have it turned on and donโ€™t apply Lime.

Also radishes will only give the same bonus as 1 level of any other type of fertiliser.

So then where is the 25% boost there talking about in the help menu?

If you were playing with it off before then you need to look at it as a reduction if you dont do it instead of a boost if you do.

If lime is turned off, then you get the bonus without applying lime.
If lime is turned on, you only get the +25% if you apply lime when needed.

Lime, plowing, and weeds increase difficulty. If those options are turned off, you will get the yield bonuses they provide without doing anything.

That's how I like to look at it too, Preble. It's presented as though you start at 100% yield with potential to increase it to 200%. I look at as though you are only producing at 50% capacity if you play with all options on, and don't tend to the field at all other than planting and harvesting.

I'm a little unsure about the percentage breakdown on fs19 as I don't own it yet. Is lime really 25% (or 12.5% with the way I look at it above). Also, it was mentioned that some crops still require plowing first. Is that in addition to lime as well for those crops, or instead of lime for those crops?

After certain crops, not before. The field gets the "needs plowing" state after it has grown a crop of potatoes, corn, sugar beets, or grass, but after you plow it that status won't come back until you next grow one of those crops.

sugar cane not grass as grass isn't in the listed in the help menu. :)

Oh, I see. So in those instances does plowing add a yield percentage like it did in fs17 in addition to lime, fertilizing, and weed control?

I don't waste my time with radishes. I am perfectly fine using Grass as a cover crop to get the first fertilizer stage. Extra $$$ from selling the grass as well.
