Equipment Service

Post by Johndeereman4250 »

How wore out does a head or even planter or combine get before it compromises yield. It’s a long ways back to the farm when my head gets wore just curious if lower than 80% then yield starts to go down or is it less than that if anyone can advise me on equipment maintenance that would be lovely thank you

Maintenance has NOTHING to do with yield, it’s pretty much just an aesthetic feature and has no affent on your farms income.

Really????? I figured it did due to I harvest the same fields over and over and each time I get more or less than the previous harvest just assumed it to be part of equipment maintenance

In real life it would affect it but not fs, so long as you can cope with less engine power

If you don’t maintain headers and other machinery, you will end up trying to harvest at 1mph

If you notice performance affected, you can repair using in the shop/garage menu, although it is more expensive than going to the garage.

Low maintenance % on vehicles causes increased fuel consumption.
On implements like headers and seeders, it decreases the working speed of the implement.
For things like front weights and tippers, I have no idea what happens.

Combine 100% header 100% - wheat 4590l
Combine 0% header 100% - wheat 2750l
Combine 69% header 100% - wheat 4590l
Combine 68% header 100% - wheat 4560l

Start at 5:30

maybe it depends on difficulty lvl? (video test on medium)

Interesting. If I read this right you let the combine need maintenance but kept the header repaired?

Sealyp let the header run to 0% as the impression was that a damaged header impacted crop yield.

Second part of the test is a 100% harvester but the 0% header, like MrSealyp said
The header only affects the speed but It would be nice to see black smoke from the exhaust when the tractor/combine/car etc is tired or the sound of the engine changes slightly
I am not a farmer in real life but you have to ask a question where there are losses in the yield during threshing. In the header or inside the combine?

In my opinion the game is based on the fact that we learn it ourselves based on our own experience or we exchange advice with other players. We should create a website - farming.wiki :biggrin2:

IRL, losses come from the header and the combine. The loss from a header is pretty consistent over its life. Even a new head will lose some grain.

Loss from the combine is driven by adjustments and settings by the operator on things like the sieve, chaffer, concave, rotor speed and fan speed. The combine loss, like the header, is mostly independent of age.

The FS19 repair modeling is not realistic but it's better than nothing
Oh, I’m sorry, I thought this was America.
