1.4 Update Question

Since I updated to 1.4 I now have to keep the game dvd in the drive to play FS, before the update I did not, is this normal please?

This is as it should be. If you buy it on DVD, it has to be in the drive. You could make an .iso image from the disc, so you dont actually need it ;)
I assume people don't use Seasons, unless they say otherwise.

I had this issue too after 1.4 but when turned PC off and on again without external drive connected it ran okay again without the DVD. This did not happen with any previous update, only 1.4.
