It's as vague as that is a Facebook post and not a comment on discord. There is no context whatsoever :confusednew:

Just on the mod contest, doesn't matter what permission you have or haven't got, ALL mods for the MC have to be built from the ground up, if it is found out that parts from existing mods or in game models are used then it's out.

You're still missing the number one point. Any old models used in a mod makes it ineligible for the mod contest.

Lol what a surprise he isn’t releasing anything anymore. Before this map, I couldn’t tell you the last time he released anything. He will be missed ... lol .

Bet he will still keep his Patreon going with modding tutorials since he is all about helping the community ... for a dime that is .

Serious modding has made his statement.
From my perspective this appears to be the result of not knowing or not paying attention to the rules of the contest.

I do feel that his decision is a bit rash for something like this but it is his decision to make.

Just for clarity, you can use existing models in maps, however only if you have permission. Some of the maps uses the road construction pack that has (in one form or another) been around since FS13.

It's a bit of a minefield finding original authors of models, but the simple answer is if you don't have permission then use an alternative model.

If the original modder brought it to the attention of GIANTS (and they may well have done) then it would have been removed anyway.

Yeah I wasn't sure about maps and at first I was referring to vehicles and implements etc.

Oh ok my mistake. The rules seem a bit vague on existing map models then as it states self made 3d models and 2d textures.

Yes he said he didn't know the original creator therefore it should have been replaced.
