Re: Fs17
No, plenty of people still prefer FS17. They don't like the atmosphere of FS19, some don't like the changes to modding (particularly the way the new ground textures work) and some just felt that certain new features (placeables, livestock enclosures and so on) just failed to live up to expectations.
The unnatural feel to the graphics and lighting is particularly divisive. Same with the dynamic sky.
Personally I can see past most of the issues so play FS19, but for several months I was playing both FS17 and FS19. Plenty of people still playing FS17 looking at Steam's stats, though they are of course comfortably beaten by FS19.

Re: Fs17
I can see both sides, but to me it does come down to the atmosphere. The general feel of the game. There are features in 19 I miss when I play 17, but 19 doesn't seem to have the sticktoitivness that 17 has.

Re: Fs17
The day FS19 came out, I removed FS17 from my laptop.
I like FS19 way more then FS17. I could never understood all the compaints everybody had about FS19 and still can't.
From the modder perspective I can understand it's different and more complicated then in FS17.
So for me, I do like the general feel of the game and would never go back.

Re: Fs17
Playing FS17 now it looks really dreary in comparison and I loved FS17.
And maybe it is just the fact that I am on console but the quality of the graphics has improved dramatically in my opinion. The circle you see on the fields is much less noticeable, the grass and vegetation is much more visually appealling.

Re: Fs17
Now that I have found a good map on 19, I can't go back to 17. It was easier to go back and put hours in on 17, when 19 came out with all it's issues. But 19 for me now is the better game. But for the first 4-5 months of 19, I played a lot on 17.
Currently Playing on XBoxOne : Elm Creek

Re: Fs17
I cant go back to fs17 anymore. I like the way the vehicles handle in fs19, in fs17 everything feels like a race car.

Re: Fs17
Are you alone?
I guess not.
But I’m not one of them.
At launch I didn’t like FS19 that much.
Too much was wrong and too much was missing.
Now, a year later, FS19 is such a better game.
With all the improvements and mods that came out.
I could never go back
Ignorance is bliss
Re: Fs17
At the time of release of FS19, it was FS17 + mods > FS19 without mods.
But at this time, IMO, it is FS19 + mods > FS17 + mods.
We have CP, AI Vehicle Extension, Auto Drive, Seasons and plenty of other mods that were in FS 17, + ingame landscaping.
I always hated when i wanted to edit some map in FS17, i had to open it in GE.
Also FS19 vehicle physics are quite decent, its something between FS17 non MR and FS17 MR.
This is my opinion.

Re: Fs17
I fired up my Lone Oak Seasons save a few weeks ago just to see the difference. Nope, not for me. FS19 without seasons is better than 17 with --- to me. I guess it boils down to what you value in the game and why you play. For me, it's the vehicles. That's the sole reason I play FS, to drive heavy equipment. FS19 feels like you're driving heavy equipment. They pick up speed down hills and require braking, they take a long time to get up to speed when loaded, the bodies flex when coming to a stop or turning... They're not perfect by any means, but so much better. Heck, the cab suspension animations alone make it feel more realistic.
FS17 vehicles act like they are made of plastic and handle like go-carts. A fully-loaded semi can do 0-70 in 5 seconds (I'm probably exaggerating as I've not actually measured it, but still...) Sorry, I can't do that anymore.

FS22 is the best one yet. Fight me!

Re: Fs17
FS17 was/is a fine game.. Still in possession of my favorite tractor (but BSM is working hard on it!) and my favorite maps (Greenwich is very quickly filling this void).. But I cant go backwards.. As stated above, its also mostly vehicle handling related.. It was the absolute first big difference I noticed with fs19.. but there are also so many things I love about 19.. the extra field work like lime and weeds.. The chicken changes.. The sun lol..
That being said, the roleplay forum will have me playing 17 more than I thought I would as we do have people still playing it who want to use the forum and I am completely ok with that

Re: Fs17
I agree with y'all on the vehicles and features. I'm trying to figure out how to put this into words... When I load 17, and I hear the menu music, I'm already drawn in. 19 is a better game for vehicles and features, but the atmosphere doesn't hold me. Even maps that were converted feel entirely different somehow. I can't figure out why, but 17 just appeals to me more.
