Updateing Mods

If I install a Mod, and later there is an update for it, When I install the updated mod, do I have to start a new game?

Maps you have to sometimes. Usually with other mods you don't have to.

I have have had mods disappear after update and I needed to repurchase them.its rare but it has happened a few times.

you don't purchase mods they're free you mean redownload

Are you renaming the file or overwriting the existing?

You should just be overwriting the existing file.

I ment repurchase in game but then again i might need to simplify my statement so everyone will understand.

It depends on the changes to the mod. It can happen for all mods. just some 'bad luck' for the users.
