cows dying from nothing

My friend bought fifty cows gave the food ( not tmr) and water now he has 9- cows can anyone shed light on this?

Is he using a modded map off of the Modhub and if so what is the map and is he using a modded animal pasture

he is on sandy bay and he is using the main farms built in cow pen

Is he using a growth control mod? That causes issues if using seasons

how do you even buy calves? no he didn't buy calves he bought Holsteins
does speeding up time do any thing? he said he had been spending up time to 2000 instead of sleeping but even when he does sleep the cows still die

There is a spot on sandy bay to buy calves. I haven't played the map. Just saw first looks. I believe ot is next to one of the places to buy cows.

he was at the main farm so he couldn't of bought calves
