Modhub issues - console

Post by chedly_farms »

Is anyone else on console, experiencing issues with the ModHub not showing all the mods?

Never mind, my dumb donkey, had the “only show top mods” button clicked.

I swear, it’s the stupidest thing Giants implemented.

Idea is really good, show people what mods to try out first and sort of reward modders for creating high quality content.

Implementation is trash, they should have made it a page like everything else, if not that at least a separate category on the modhub main page. Another problem I have with the "top mod" idea is the ratings for mods don't actually count toward making a mod a "top mod." There are plenty of top mods that are below a 4/5 rating, which isn't a bad rating, but there are plenty of "regular" mods that are well above 4.5/5.

So I really have no idea how a mod gets the "top mod" accolade. IMO top mods shouldn't be decided by giants, but rather the community. Maybe someone on the forums should start a thread with the OP being a list of community recommended mods.

I agree the implementation is definitely off. First time I ever got on to get mods on 19 I couldn't find what I knew I was looking for and knew was available. I remember feeling sorry for those that dont pay attention to the key prompts on screen or get on the forums and are only seeing what is top mod status and missing on all the other goodies.

Same here Red, Ive always wondered why TOP mods weren't 5 star rated, and some 5 star rated ones weren't TOP?

Another question, how come certian mods are re releasing? Like the bale trailer by Greenbale, the light blue one. It came out weeks ago and came out again this week. It hasn't changed at all and it already said "installed" which was true, as I had it there already.

It was probably removed from the mod hub for one reason or another and the modder decided to put it back, at least that’s happened before.

I'm sick of the mods downloading from the installed list.
Go to install a new mod and it says pending in the downloading tab. Go into the installed tab and there we have an older mod all a sudden needs to be DL. It's NOT just the one mod but upto three of them. It done it in a cycle three times before doing what is in the DL tab.

Top mods are decided by the community, by giving 5-star ratings on the Modhub.
A very biased solution, since some "top mods" in reality is either looking or functioning bad.

I thought Giants decide the "top" mods as many are released with that status having not received any player ratings.

Top mods are probably counted on both star ratings and the amount of downlaods. Nevertheless its heavily biased...

I don't think so look at this mod, 2 ratings of 5 stars and it is a top mod. Yes it has a good rating, but since it just came out it can't have that many downloads.
