What are your favorite FS memories over the years?

Post by chedly_farms »

I got my start in the FS franchise playing on my phone. Maybe FS14 or something. Then got 15 on Xbox 360 and have had a blast ever since. I have a lot of memories looking back that make me smile. What are some of your favorites over the years? I'll start...

One of my first memories I remember well, was firing up that yellow combine on Bjornholm and being able to turn the flashers on for the first time. I remember how cool I thought that game was. Being able to park realistic farm machinery in barns for the first time, plowing and harvesting...It was awesome. I also remember doing forestry work with a New Holland T6 that I put a front loader on. That thing looked like a dang hot rod compared to the other tractors you started with on that map. You made mad loot doing forestry as well.

Then for 19, I remember downloading mods for the first time on console. I stuck to Giants ones only at first because I was afraid other mods would mess up the game. Then I tried a mod maps for the first time, and absolutely fell in love with Old Stream Farm. I had over a thousand hours on that map. I ran all Fendt machinery. That was awesome. I remember downloading the 1050 for the first time after the modder created it and got it to the mod hub. That was lots of fun.
Currently Playing on XBoxOne : Elm Creek

It was fs17 that I first got cows. I remember making hay for the first time in the field across from the cow barn and seeing the round bales all in the field. I really felt like a farmer right then.

I remember the first time playing with seasons and being so confused as I hadn't read anything about it.

But my most fond memory is of Coldborough Park Farm. It was in the evening underneath a big tree after working real hard all day. I had this intense feeling of accomplishment that has hooked me on this game since then.
This is the most fun you're ever gonna have

I think FS17 and the west coast map. I thought, "oh my god, who has made this map" because it was something new to me, and the detail was impeccable. I themed the machinery more English like, and it looked so real.

Playing with seasons for the first time and playing in the snow was something that made me sit there for hours and play with. It's just so memorising to see it. Also trying to it and play realistically to the season was great.

The farm focuses on Milk production, with cereals, grass silage and potato’s on the side for some extra income, whilst running a multitude of modern classics.

Probably the twinkle of excitement I get when someone mods in something I own, a brand I really like, or something I’m familiar with from work or working for someone. The same as when giants adds that new feature to the new game that you really want or when seasons was released.

Tried one of the first IOS versions on my nephews iPad, didn't think much of it - saw FS13 for PlayStation3 and downloaded it, just because I like tractors! Fell totally in love! Bought a laptop for FS15, which later on was upgraded with a steering wheel - and then I found mods... The first time I bought an old 2WD Deere that could attach rear twin wheels - WOW! And then I found a map with multi angle, and my life was (almost) complete!
Been playing WAAAAY to many hours - PC with Logitech G27 and Thrustmaster Simtask Farmstick

The first was towing the New Holland header down the lane on Chellington 17, making a mess of reversing it in front of the combine, parking the header trailer in the nettles and then finally driving my own combine cutting the barley.

Second, on Thornton flogging the Bizon combine to get finished before the rain came, my first game on Seasons.

Third, on Oakfield: Cutting that big field, was it No.45?, as the darkness fell and the corncart came roaring up alongside the combine. My first time play with Courseplay.

I've realised there's a theme: All are combine driving and all are on OxygenDavid maps.

Coldborough Park Farm and Spectacle Island. I had 17 (pc) for a few weeks before I found out how the mods worked and first map (one of first mods too) downloaded was CPF. Spectacle Island was after I went to ps4 and discovering you can empty your combine into another combine into another combine into a grain cart into a semi and finding all the good launching points off the cliffs with The Farmmits and at DjGoHam's start. Of course a few other memories of meeting friends through fs17.

Not much worth noting has happened in 19 beyond making ubsurdly undulating terrain and massive ramps with new terrain altering feature when it first came out. Sussex was a little destroyed lol.

it was field 42 in fs17 but for 19 the number was changed, far as I can remember it is 45.

My first FS game was FS15 PC. Got it on a sale on Steam and took a chance since I never thought I would like a Farming game. It was like I found a gold nugget. I was hooked and addicted! Oh, I miss that time and feeling I got when I first tried FS. I need to get that feeling back again. I hope the next new Farming Sim does that to me again!..lol

FS17 - when I got the nerve to try Seasons and Lone Oak. Completely changed the game for me. I had been afraid of both using mods and trying Seasons. Kicked myself that I hadn’t started earlier.
