I just saw the FS accolades video on YT and read the news about the trailer award or something...

I never saw another company that was so arrogant to make this kind of video about themselves.

How about a DEV update? Or a roadmap? Or maybe some info for the players? Or maybe even participate in a debate here and there?

Relaying Info on the forums has never been a strongpoint for Giants. But going a month+, with no updates is pretty bad. I'm not really sure what Kermit and Chaki do as community coordinators, but if it is to communicate with the players, then I have to ask if they have been laid off.

Guessing most of those reviewers are not players, and are not aware of the ongoing issues, or the issues that have plagued every version at release.
It seems like reviewers are more interested in coming up with clever or unique blurbs, whether they're accurate or not. This applies to any game, not just FS.
CGI trailers are what sells copies of FS, and I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of sales are not returning customers, but people with no previous experience with the franchise.

Forums are dead. Even if a developer has a forum, they're rarely active on it anymore. Paradox tend to hang around their forums quite a bit, but they're an exception rather than the norm. Almost everyone else has moved to socials, mostly Twitch, Discord and Twitter for direct participation and Facebook and Insta for advertising. I'm sure there are other venues as well, but I'm far too old and too busy to keep track.
