I've a simple question: On console, using a chainsaw for cutting a log, how do you determine where to cut the log to get a certain length?
eg., I want to cut 4 meter logs for transporting on the Kesla 144ND.
Of course there is a scripted mod that fixes this base game flaw. But that does not solve the problem on console.
How do you measure the length of your (hard) wood?

Drive the trailer beside the log and cut a top piece off the length that will fit on the trailer. Then, as long as it’s not too heavy, you can pick that up and set it beside other logs to use as a measuring stick.

in older editions, I just parked the trailer close and eyeballed it, much like I’ve done cutting firewood in Real life.

Cleaned it up and this is a reminder that we're an all ages forum where kids are present.

Console players are using all kinds of creative ways - including the multiplayer approach - to measure the length of wood logs in game. In your opinion, what are the chances that we get some kind of tape measure tool in the base game?
Re: How do you measure the length of your (hard) wood?
What is 1+1, is a simple question.
How do you measure the length of your wood in a game where length matters, but the developers give you no way to measure, is not so simple.
Since the developers don't give you a way, you'll mostly have to rely on eyeballing it.

Deer328, I myself have suffered the wrath of Chaki. It would seem the German sense of humour is being applied to this forum, hence no fun or light hearted comments. I appreciate there are youngsters on this forum but in all honesty there is probably nothing I could post on here that would shock them unless they go by the name of Cwattyseo who reports everything to the moderators because he's a delicate flower and very important Giants partner. Is it us that are acting like children or is it the likes of Cwattyseo that are acting like a immature child. Didn't see if OP is on PC or console but PC has a tape measure mod, for measuring soft wood and hard wood.
