Ballyspring unplayable

First of all. I love the map. Actually my favourite on fs22. But unfortunately it has become unplayable. Crashes my game pretty much every time. Has got beyond annoying at this stage. I have 47 hours.. that would be quadrupled if not for the problems I’ve had. On ps5 btw.

Did you try without any mods? So to rule out a mod conflict.

Or try to track back to which mod you installed by the time the game started crashing.

I might try that. I’ve had days with no crashes at all. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern to it as i can tell.

I think the issue isn't BallySpring itself, rather a bad disk sector on my PS4 HDD, or a corrupt game save...

Like yourself cedric I started a new save. But with minimal mods, as tommy suggested. I haven’t had a single problem in 2 full days playing.. So I’ll start adding 2/3 mods at a time to identify the conflict. Appreciate the help

I've gone in with all the mods still in place and hope that I don't hit the same wall!

Deleted last 2 mods installed. Claas bailer and slurry tankers, thought i had it solved. Played for 35 to 45 mins then happend twice within 10 mins. Painful :frown:

^^ Are you also on BallySpring Burnhead?

I've put 7 hours into re-starting my BallySpring farm, involving some field re-shaping, hedge removal, gate replacement, and re-purchasing all of my machines and equipment. Earlier I rented a load of tractors, and got all of the equipment out on to the road, ready to deliver to the main farm and my second on in the north of the map. I did a quick "fly past" using build-mode, to create a video of the blocked street, then was about to go into the menu to save the game when... you've guessed it... BOOM! Same old crash, CE-34878-0 error

AARRGGHH!!!

I had suspicions it was a disk error, but now I'm wondering if it's the map after all. I have had occasional CE-34878-0 errors when playing over the past year, mainly using the Calmsden map, but perhaps less than once a week. On BallySpring it's becoming par for the course. I wonder if it's worth reaching out to the map creator and/or Giants? If we could give them copies of the game saves, would it be possible for them to analyse them for the cause?

I did have a HUGE amount of vehicles today, just before the crash, but only something like 1962 slots used out of 2600. I was happily running Calmsden with only around 100 spare slots

In the meantime, I'll give BallySpring a few more days, but if it carries on, I'm moving to Court Farms... (Shame as I love how much BallySpring is customisable, with the removal hedges and walls, but maybe this is what's causing the issue?)

Then you got other another mod conflict.

I said it before, Bucker81 tried it and it works for him.

The map is fine, plays fine, seeing a lot of people playing it without issues, including me. I have lots of hours already on this map without any issues.

Again, please try WITHOUT any mods on a NEW save before contacting the map maker when it looks like only the 2 people in this topic has an issue with the map and nobody else.
Well there were 3 people in this topic. But 1 listened to my advice and his issue looks solved as I haven't heard anything from Bucker anymore about this issue.

That doesn't sound like you even tried to find the mod conflict and solve the issue.

Don't get me wrong I'm really trying to help, but if your reply is: "Going in with all the mods still in place and hope for the best" while mods are probably conflicting, that doesn't fix anything.

So yes, from the looks of it you still got yourself a mod conflict, good luck with that! *thumbsup*


Solution: create a new save, start adding mods slowly to identify which mod causes the conflict.

Sorry I'm not trying to attack you or insult you or hurt your feelings or anything.

I just tried to help fixing your issue.

I hope you can find your mod conflict so you can enjoy the map like me. I really have more then enough hours on this map without any issues.

I'm just dreading the idea of starting over with no mods, and then adding them, feeling confident enough to add another, and then it all going horribly wrong again!

But that's the only way to find the mod causing issues. I always add them line by line, until I got the issue again. Then I know one of those mods in that line is causing issues. Simple and fast.

So when it goes "horribly wrong" you found the issue and then problem is solved and you can enjoy the map.

^^ I can see the logic Tommy93, but just worried that I might play for 45 minutes, assume it's OK, add some more, then go another 45 minutes, add some more, then it crashes - but not because of what I'd just added, rather a delayed error from a previous batch!

I have done something like this before. I added A-M and all was fine, so knew it was in N-Z, then I halved that, halved again until I'd found the culprit!

Oh, and another thing - I assume mods aren't going to cause an issue unless they are activated? (as in, they can exist on the PS HDD, but unless they are working in the game, they won't affect it?)

EDIT: It would be nice if users were able to log conflicting mod issues in a thread on here, so others experiencing the same issues could reference it!

Yes cedricthecat it is ballysprings i am playing on. Sorry i should of said that. I think Tommy93 is right though. I played 30 odd hours with no errors so it must be a conflict with a mod i used
