Question about the .cache files

Hi all.

I currently have some issues with my savegame on the dedicated server.
Parts of the placeable fences has start to go under the ground and some parts is also invisible (collision is still there).

So started do some looking into the savegame folder to see if I somehow can fix this issue.
I can see that there is three cache-files in the folder named terrain.lod.type.cache, terrain.nmap.cache and terrain.occluders.cache.
It looks like by deleting terrain.lod.type.cache fixes the issue.
However, this also deletes all the painting job I have done on the ground with the tools in game.
But painting it again is not a problem for me as long it fixes the fences.

So now I curious what exactly is stored in the three files since I'm not a modder or map builder.
It seems I can't find much information so I thought asking here If anyone could explain or send a link for some information. :)
