is port forward multiplayer configuration necessary?

after having a very good experience with this game, I was planning to drag a friend of mine into the world of farming to play in multiplayer (both playing on pc through steam).
in the past we had some very bad experiences with some games, like wreckfest or arma3 (to name just a couple) that needed some port forward setting on the routers.
since the internet providers in the country where we are living doesn’t allow/block any kind of port forwarding, I wanted to know if this game need that kind of setting to be played in multiplayer or it’s just a click “connect” easy style of mp.

Port forwarding should not be necessary. Your best bet is just to try it and see if it works.
