Can't pick up items at all

So I just downloaded FS22 for my Mac and the game is running fine other than I cannot pick up collectibles in any way. I am trying to build my farm yet the collectibles are in my way and I can't grab them. I have tried remapping the key to see if that worked yet nothing. I have searched for an answer but I haven't found anything so I came here hoping for some help. Thank you.
