Retter Respiro r7 rd missing grass in middle of the merger.
I am using the Retter Respiro r7 rd And it will sometimes ride onto the grass in front of it or the windrow you are moving material into and miss grass in the middle.
Screenshots are of the problem happening in minimum yielding grass that has been limed and rolled after seeding
The problem is temporarily solved by moving sideways a bit when it happens.
Edit: clarify that the grass was limed and rolled when seeded.

Are you playing on a larger than standard size map?
Re: Retter Respiro r7 rd missing grass in middle of the merger.
The Oxbo 2340 is doing the same thing. The gap in the folding areas are not closed properly when unfolded, which also makes it miss bits.
First I tried it on Osada and now on Zielonka.

Something to do with voxels?
Yes I am on a 4x map.

No problems on a 4x map here. Despite of the visual gap, the actual work areas are perfectly gapless - but of course not overlapping. So one could assume some small glitch depending on terrain irregularities. But not in such continous pattern as shown on the screenshots. Which map and which field is this?

I'm playing on Agrodaje, the field is a combination of 41 and 42 with the starting ashpalt pad edges smoothed as it made the mower miss spots.
In case it is a problem with the tractor (Claas xerion 2500/3000), I'll test the merger again with a Valtra.

I’ve just noticed missing on the bigger maps, specifically 16x and bigger. It’s usually at the end of a rake but depending on how giants has it set up it could be the same thing.

Tested the merger with a base game tractor on the same save and the problem persists.

Re: Retter Respiro r7 rd missing grass in middle of the merger.
I was able to reproduce the issue on this map on both fields 41 and 42 - either with that Mod-Claas or another tractor.
In fact the map uses a "densityMap_height.gdm" in a size of only 4096x4096. After changing this to 8192x8192 (as it should be on a 4x4), the problem was resolved.

I'll give that a shot. thanks.
With what Do I edit a .gdm?

Re: Retter Respiro r7 rd missing grass in middle of the merger.
You can't edit the GDM directly, you take a detour via PNG.
Normally, your starting point would be a 8192x8192 all-black (0-0-0) 24bit PNG. But as there is some small heap of "i-dont-know-what-stuff" somewhere in the lower right part of the map, you should convert the original GDM to keep this alive. If you skip that, you'd start at step 3.
1. Convert the original GDM to PNG with grleConverter (from GDN) > you will receive a 4096x4096 pixels PNG.
2. Load that PNG into paint.NET (or whatever) and double the size (200%). Important: use interpolation method "next neighbour" (or whatever your software offers in that sense). Save it as 24bit PNG > should be 8192x8192 pixels now.
3. Copy that PNG into the "data" folder and rename the GDM in there.
4. Open the map.i3d with an adequate text editor (e.g. Notepad++), change the file reference for the "densityMap_height" from ".gdm" to ".png" and save it.
5. Open the map.i3d in GE. Check that there are no errors and only then save.
6. Now, a new GDM should have been created in the data folder.
7. (Optional, but recommended) Convert that new GDM to PNG again and double-check that it is really 8192x8192. You can discard the PNG afterwards.
8. Rename your PNG in the data folder (or remove it) and revert step 4, so your file reference is ".gdm" again.
9. (Optional, but recommended) Open the map.i3d in GE. Check that there are no errors and only then save.
On a new savegame, the new GDM will automatically be used. On an existing one, you need to replace that with the new one just created.
In case you already have some important stuff on the ground in your savegame and you want to rescue that: you can also convert that GDM same way by temporarily using it in the data folder.

Thanks, should probably also let the mod author know.

Giants editor keeps not responding and closing on me when I try to open the id3 even when I try to open the unadulterated file.

OK, so that is a general problem with GE also on other (smaller) files? Or does it only occur with that specific map? GE has a log file in it's install directory as well.

I checked the installation location and no log, and other files open (one tested).
