Cow Barn with feeding robot: "Straw is not accepted here"

I have been using this barn with straw bales normally.
Now I decided to collect straw directly in a forage wagon.
I managed to feed Hay to the cow barn.
But this isn't working with straw.

What can be done?

I found with the hay and forage pack installed that it was changing the crop type to pellets and then the barn would not accept it

I noticed that the bug resolved itself by simply logging out and logging back into the game.
