Area of a created field?

Post by mexel75 »

Is there a way, through courseplay or any other mod, to measure up the size in hectares of a created field?

There is no way, knowing how big your created field is?

Check the statistics menu.
It should show the recently plowed area.

If you use precision farming, you can see info for each plot of land that you own including how many hectares are fields (am i right in thinking that?)

It’s not an exact measurement as it depends on how many fields are on the plot of land

Been a while since I have done it, so unless it has changed you can set Courseplay to record as you drive around the field boundary then save as a custom field i.e. cp-1 then it should show on the map screen with its acreage.

With a little more effort and interest in what they were doing, the developers could have added that important detail to the base game.

They have. As mentioned already above.
It is in the statistics menu.
You just need to write down the current counter value before you start plowing.

Pretty sure PF is just showing field sizes of original fields. Once you extended/split fields this is not reflected.

So you're saying they did it in the most convoluted way possible...

Well, my 8 year old nephew is able to handle that.
Is it convoluted? Maybe. But it is far from being complicated.

But yeah, a nice menu showing an overview for your own fields with size, current crop, potential yield, ... and all that capable of including field size changes you did while playing would be really handy.

People have been asking for this since release. I guess the devs didn't think hectares of a field was a detail farmers might want.

What is a hectare?
You should look it up to get a good definition, but it's a metric measurement, which is used by pretty much everyone outside the US. Americans probably use Acres to measure an area.
