How do I use the Developer's Console to make changes?

I've managed to get this up and running and can see what's going on, plus I'm able to enter commands, but can't see how to actually change anything!

I'm trying to stop my display swapping in and out of fuzziness/sharpness as mentioned both here and here

In the second topic (not one I started) mention is made by Guil of using the console to change the "setTextureStreamingBehavior". I can see that mine is set to "ratio", and the post seems to suggest that I might see graphics improvements using "min", but try as I might, I can't get the setting to change! If anyone would be able to advise on how to achieve this, I'd be very grateful!
