Simple Midwest 4x soil types

Is it just me or does Simple Midwest only have 1 soil type for the entire map? Looks like the entire map is loamy sand which has terrible yields and requires high seeding rates. Is there a simple way to change this?

You can edit the SimpleMidwest4x.xml in the xml folder of the map files.

Find
<soilMap filename="map/data/infoLayer_soilMap.grle"/>
and replace it with
<!-- <soilMap filename="map/data/infoLayer_soilMap.grle"/> -->
this will make the map use the default Precision Farming soil map.

This will usually only work on a new save but you may be lucky and it works on an existing save.
