Memphis, New York

Post by chedly_farms »

This new Memphis, New York map is pretty good. It's interesting, in that it's got a good mix of things to it. It feels immersive. I'm curious to give it a proper go along side my current Ohio game save.

I've been hearing people are having issues with that map. But glad to hear yours is running fine. I haven't tried the map yet, will probably wait til the update comes. *thumbsup*

As far as I know pretty much FPS issues, & game crashes due to the trees.

Seems to mostly effect old gen users as well.

I took a couple looks on it, there are some FPS issues in certain areas. I've decided not to give it a go, as there are too many things I'd need to "fix" to make it comfortable for myself to play. The path networks connecting the fields in the woods on the western side of the map are incomplete and very bumpy among other things. I didn't have any game crashes and I'm on an XBox One S. It's still a nice map. I think with some attention to details it could be very good. It is still a top 5 In North American maps in my opinion with, Ohio Richlands, Griffin, Bloomfield, Alma.

No Iowa Plains View? In my opinion, it’s much better than Bloomfield and Ohio. Ohio could be a very good map but feels like it needs an update to make it more complete.
I would definitely put Iowa in Top 5 North American maps.

Agree. I'm still waiting for mods to finish before determining my ride or die maps. So far I have Griffin and Iowa Plains. I may have to reconsider Alma but that can be the only mod map due to the file size.

I hear Alma is getting an update that requires a new save . Unfortunately though it failed two days ago due to the collision at the cow barn door.

Ah ok just looked into that. I will prob go with Alma in the end and finalize/max out the mods I want. It's the best overall map for my style. I went back to Iowa because the AI would drive to and from places but anymore if I'm farming I'm gonna be doing everything myself.

I never "jived" with Iowa Plains. Alma is a lot more my style when it comes to Celebuoki maps. Iowa just feels too "computer made" where Alma feels natural.

How many trees have to be cut down to get below the max tree limit?

I agree with most of your top five Chedly. Ohio Richlands was the only one I just couldn't make work for me. The nice thing about Alma over the others is that the roads are wide enough to use semi trucks. I actually keep going back to Elm Creek and Silverrun. I really enjoy the logging part and Memphis has some phenomenal forests though.

Don't get me wrong, Memphis is a great first map for the modder. I very well may give it a go at some point. I would just need to make some things to my liking. My ideal starting fields would be the ones in the woods on the left side of the map, that's the exact type of thing I look for.

I'm a real life logger that has a Farming Simulator obsession. When they added forestry I can't look at any map without seeing it from a logger's perspective. Where I live in Missouri we have a lot of small 40 to 100 acre cattle farms and not much crop farming. The few places around that are raising any crops at all are 20 acre fields of corn, beans or wheat. Every farm has as much timberland as pasture around here though. The big thing about this Memphis map is that the forests actually look real. Better than any other map I've seen.
