Foals in FS 25 for Xbox?

Post by Alynn1988 »

Call me crazy but I decided to be a horse trainer in the game as I am a horse trainer in real life, so I figured it would be fun. What I noticed after the horses reached maturity, they did not produce a foal. I went into the pasture to see 2 new adult horses. My question, is why do all of the other animal groups have babies but not the horses? I haven't seen where foals are an option for Xbox and wasn't sure if there's a setting for it or they just didn't do them for the game?

Well its like this mate , giants only ever do half a job . so we have had animals for some time now maybe 4 or 5 releases and this is the 1st release with young ones . so give it a few more versions and you might get foals , A conservative estimate of when they might add them is FS2030. It took them close to 10 years to add a gearbox to the game . took them 6 years to work out the front axles on tractors pivot . took them 10 years to realize there are seasons and when they did finally copy the mod they only did half a job , ( still waiting for them to finish seasons off ) Same with the new soil deformation , its kinda half done and badly thought out and poorly implemented .

Giants dropped the ball after fs 17 and keep tripping over their shoe laces trying to pick it back up , But when you have clown shoes on, you keep kicking the ball further away.

Exactly this, I couldn't say this better. Everything new is done half, weeds for example, not patches of weeds, no, a field full of weeds. They now have implemented GPS, but helpers are still terrible. Tornados, why focus on something like that, when a lot of other real farming things are still not optimal or just missing, like irrigation in dry periods.

It's because it works ... two million sales, thirteen thousand reviews of which 81% (10,000 is) are positive.

Personally I'd rather GIANTS put the effort into make the farming more detailed and more realistic; concentrate on getting the physics right, the weather and environment model, the economic model learn from the mods -- GPS more like Wopster's Guidance steering, not least so that it is optional and paid for. Pick up the easy wins: save player position, presave before construction, etc.

And if this means no Farm Sim League, no Arena mode, no production chains, no talking NPCs, no tornados, no fairground ride to build ... then I'd be very pleased!

*BUT* It turns out that GIANTS are probably right, and all those things maybe sell games. And that's what they are really here for; to sell games. Maybe there is another strategy for the company? Finish and polish the game, maybe even port it to the new/popular engine? But would you bet two million sales on it?

On seasons. The mod maker of the 19 seasons mod was hired by Giants to make seasons in 22. But halfway the build he quit. Since it was his mod and held the rights to it, Giants couldn't make a 1 to 1 copy. They had to cut corners to not get a law suit. Same happens in this version.

If you read the modding terms and conditions you will see that this is simply not true! Giants have the rights to do whatever they want with content that was uploaded to modhub.

You're making up excuses as to what you think the reason is. It's bull, considering everything they do is halfway before they think of something else to begin.

So true and it feels like their answer to everything. Even when they borrow a good feature from a mod it’s usually implemented so half-heartedly that it ends up as a worse version of the original (seasons). I totally agree regarding the ground deformation too because it wasn’t strong enough in version 1.0, never really affected vehicle handling and now in 1.3 it’s almost completely unnoticeable. That’s like saying “we did a poor job of it, so let’s remove it and you probably won’t notice anyway”. I've been playing these games for 10 years and its taken them that long to even add guidance steering.

If only we could have this but their track record shows they have no interest in it. I doubt it will ever change because the way they see it is the casual part of the game has wide appeal and it sells. Adding a deeper simulation in their view is too much work and effort for something they see as having niche appeal. They could do it and have more detailed options that could be switched off for people who don’t want that, but they have no incentive. Just look at the number of downloads for Precision Farming which shows that people like more options and will certainly try it out if you provide it.

I don’t feel Giants innovate, they just push out a new iteration because it’s easier.

They focus on Tornados as they want to push the climate change narrative first and for most. Also they are likely a Woke company like many other implementing a DEI strategy as well.

I think Giants should employ on a contract basis some of the good modders when working on new FS versions, that way when it is released it will include some really cool things. Like the person that did the seasons mod for example. I like the factory concept as it is a form of introducing the ability to make more money from your farm produce.

I'm hoping creative mesh makes a comeback for fs25, really enjoyed their fs22 stuff

What? Another post full ob bull****! They are a lazy company, nothing else.

They focus on tornadoes because everything else would require a competent programmer and some actual brains. None of that can be found at Giants.
