Weather synchronization

Hi, I searched the forum but can't find any answer, so hopefully someone can answer this.

I have a dedicated server running and we (my friends and me) noticed that the weather is not syncing across the players. So for me it was raining and thunderstorm, and for another player it was very sunny, another player had very cloudy skies.

I'm wondering what happens if you harvest when the weather is not synced, you still getting penalised for harvesting when it's sunny for you but not for someone else?

I even emailed giants with this question, but no reply. And then a moderator moved my topic to multiplayer section where nobody ever looks it looks like.
