After playing FS22 offline for a time and switching to FS25 I saw the recent multiplayer video's from Daggerwin and wanted to try online playing.
However, I cannot get a server list.
What I do get is a error telling met that my connection is lost and I need to reconnect.
The exact text is:
Code: Select all
Connection to the server lost. Check your internet connection and restart the game.
Code: Select all
Error:Failed to connect: 6
-profile E:\FasterSavegames\MyGames\Farmingsimulator2025 -cheats
I have tried the game without this syntax, this does not help. (this also means that any setting I run is gone at that moment)
As my documents drive is on a NAS I use this to have the savegame on a SSD instead, also the -cheats is used to enable the console with the modification in the game.xml
I have a bunch of mods installed: about 190 of them, not all from modhub. I emptied out my mod folder, this does not help.
I have viewed and tried a couple of youtube "generic" troubleshooting videos that should fix "any muliplayer issues" We'll not mine.

This did not help.Step 1) Restart your PC
Step 2) Restart Steam, verify the game files
Step 3) Make sure date, time, time zone and region are correct on your computer
Step 4) Perform Power cycle- Shut down your computer, unplug the power cable, turn off WIFI router, wait for few seconds and restart your WIFI router, plug in the power cable back to the computer and then start your computer
Step 5) Run these commands
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
Step 6) If you are using any third-party antivirus like Comodo, Avast, AVG, McAfee, Norton, bit defender, then allow the game exe to your antivirus program. Windows Security users allow the game exe file to controlled folder access and firewall
Step 7) Use Google DNS Server
StepSwitch to a different network/use mobile hotspot, close VPN
Step 9) Use Ethernet connection
Step 10) Update Windows
After this I maybe thought maybe my IP adress is blacklisted or something. Got a month of NordVPN, connected through a couple of countries. Did not help.
After browsing though my active programs I found a program and through that, I found a couple of command that could check, verify en repair my windows install.
Code: Select all
You can instantiate using the key combination, Windows + X, in the context menu that will appear on the left side of the screen, select "Administrator Command Prompt" or PowerShell (Administrator).
In the black box that will appear, (known as the command console), execute the following command lines, individually:
sfc / scannow
Dism.exe / online / Cleanup-Image / StartComponentCleanup
Dism.exe / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth
The execution of these may take 30 to 40 minutes, this will depend on the characteristics of the equipment and the files to be repaired.
When finished, restart the device
However, this did not fix my problem.
I also installed FS25 on my overly underpowered laptop, I got an instant multiplayer list.
I have removed FS25 and reinstalled it. This did not fix my problem.
Googling on error 6 I found with Garys mod, this could be caused bij a setting in steam that it would try out 5000 connections this might cause it, changed this setting (steam>menutitem steam>settings>ingame>serverbrowser pings per minute) from 5000 to 1000, this did not help.
FS22 has the EXACT SAME problem, I recall once viewing the multiplayer list in both games and it working at the time, however I did not join any game.
Currently, I'm at a loss as to what might be causing this, next step for me is to invest in 2 days of my time to reinstall my PC in the hope something, somewhere in my windows install might be b0rked.
I'm running the most recent version of FS25 1.5.001
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out here?
In the spoiler is my log file.
If anyone knows something to fix this I'd be very happy, this is bugging me and absorbing my free time for the last three days allready.
