How do I get the command "y" in the control box in order to create new field?

You need to use a plow. I think I remember that subsoilers work as well. There are also a couple mods that will allow you to create fields with other tillage equipment and there is a mod where you can draw a field in the build menu. I love that mod and use it for rounding/merging fields for smoother operations.

I have used a plow. A plow that identifies that it can be used to create new fields. For some reason it either does not recognize it or there is something I need to adjust somewhere to make this work. Just can't remember .

Are you on pc or console? If pc maybe you accidently changed a keybind? Is it a mod plow or base game? If a mod, try a base game plow. Do you use a bunch of mods? Could be a conflict. Try a game with no mods active and see if the base game plow works on a base game map, fresh save. At any rate there is nothing to adjust. Creating fields is something that they added to the base game in fs17 and is absolutely nothing that there are any base game settings for. Even turning off the plowing requirement will not prevent a proper plow from creating a field if the correct button is pushed.

I am on a PC. I have even tried to go to a different map and turns out it is the same thing. I am using an ingame plow. Same thing. The thing that puzzles me is that I have successfully done a new field in the past,....getting that "Y" command. It has been quite a while, but I was able to connect two fields. All I am trying to do is connect two fields. I do own the land between them!!!!

Something is certainly not working right. Even if you didn't own the land (absolutely not saying you don't own it), you would still be able to activate the function and the game would just prevent you from working land you don't own. There should be nothing stopping this function. I would absolutely have a look at your keybinds and then go through mods. Do you use anything that might impact plows? Scripted and what have you. If you are on steam you could check your file integrity just to ensure everything is intact on that end. Could you post your log.text here? It might shine some light on something. There is a new mod on modhub that is specifically for helping detect and fix mod conflicts. Maybe give that a go and see if it finds anything?

Open your log.text and copy the whole thing to your clipboard. Come back here and paste it in spoiler tags like so

	insert log.text here

and hit the ol submit button

I'm not sure if that is a thing or not. If it is, it's not something I have seen on here before and I have looked over a few log.text on here. Maybe try creating a new log. Delete your log text. The whole thing. The game will put it back when you restart. Start up the game and your save, then exit and try sharing the new log on here again. If that doesn't work just post the entire new log with no tags. Wouldn't be the first time someone posted a literal wall of log.text and I am certain it wont be the last.
