Adding more stuff

Post by Jokerforlife841 »

Hello GIANTS Software Team,

I’m a Farming Simulator 25 player on Xbox, and I wanted to put together a comprehensive list of ideas from a player and development perspective.

I understand that many of these features would require significant development work and may have technical or platform limitations. My goal is to provide ideas that could improve the long-term depth, realism, multiplayer experience, and replayability of Farming Simulator on console.

1. Console Mod Support

One of the biggest areas I would like to see expanded is console mod support.

* More advanced ModHub mods on Xbox and PlayStation.
* More script-based functionality where platform requirements allow it.
* More realistic equipment and gameplay systems.
* Larger and more complex maps.
* 4X maps on console.
* Higher mod storage limits.
* Higher placeable limits.
* More vehicles and equipment available simultaneously.
* Larger farms without running into restrictive limits.
* More advanced production and livestock systems through mods.
* Better ModHub search and filtering.
* Better mod categories and sorting.
* More detailed mod information before downloading.
* Better support for large multiplayer modpacks.
* More North American-focused mods.

2. Larger Maps

I would love to see more large-scale maps designed around serious farming operations.

* 4X maps on console.
* Large Midwest maps.
* Southeastern U.S. maps.
* Georgia/Southern-style farming environments.
* Large cattle ranches.
* Large dairy operations.
* Forestry areas.
* More realistic towns surrounding the farming area.
* Multiple grain elevators.
* Feed mills.
* Livestock auctions.
* Equipment dealerships.
* Truck stops.
* Fertilizer and seed suppliers.
* More roads and highways connecting different parts of the map.
* Maps designed specifically for multiplayer farms and businesses.

3. Larger Multiplayer Sessions

For large maps, I think the multiplayer player limit could be expanded.

* More players in a single multiplayer session.
* Larger player limits specifically for large maps.
* Better server optimization for larger player counts.
* Multiple farms operating on the same map.
* Separate companies operating alongside farms.
* Better farm permissions.
* Employee permissions.
* Business ownership.
* Company management.
* Shared equipment fleets.
* Contracts between player-owned businesses.
* Better tools for managing large multiplayer communities.

This would allow a server to feel more like an actual farming community rather than simply several players working on one farm.

4. Large-Scale Farming

I would like to see systems that support genuinely large farming operations.

For example, a player should be able to build a 1,500–3,000 acre operation with multiple fields and specialized equipment.

Possible crops could include:

* Corn
* Soybeans
* Wheat
* Alfalfa
* Silage
* Hay
* Additional regional crops

The game could support different types of farming operations instead of making every farm operate the same way.

5. Expanded Cattle and Livestock Systems

Livestock could be developed into a much deeper management system.

For beef cattle:

* Large herds.
* Cow/calf operations.
* Breeding.
* Calves.
* Weaning.
* Feeder cattle.
* Finishing cattle.
* Feed management.
* Veterinary care.
* Cattle auctions.
* Livestock transportation.
* Variable cattle prices.

For dairy:

* Larger dairy herds.
* More detailed milk production.
* Feed quality affecting production.
* Breeding.
* Calving.
* Calf management.
* Milk storage.
* Milk transportation.
* Dairy contracts.

A large operation could potentially manage hundreds of cattle rather than livestock feeling like a relatively small side activity.

6. Livestock Markets and Economy

A more dynamic livestock market would add a lot of depth.

* Cattle auctions.
* Livestock market prices.
* Regional price differences.
* Supply and demand.
* Seasonal pricing.
* Different prices for calves, feeder cattle, finished cattle, and breeding stock.
* Contracts with meat processors.
* Contracts with feedlots.
* Transportation costs.
* Market fluctuations.

7. More Realistic Economy

The economy could become more dynamic across the entire game.

* Regional commodity prices.
* Supply and demand.
* Seasonal price changes.
* Fuel prices.
* Fertilizer prices.
* Seed prices.
* Feed prices.
* Equipment prices.
* Used equipment markets.
* Interest rates.
* Farm loans.
* Insurance.
* Property values.
* Land development.

This could make financial decisions much more meaningful.

8. Farm Businesses

I would like more ways for players to build actual companies instead of only operating a farm.

Possible businesses could include:

* Grain farming companies.
* Cattle companies.
* Dairy farms.
* Feedlots.
* Trucking companies.
* Custom farming companies.
* Construction companies.
* Logging companies.
* Landscaping companies.
* Equipment rental companies.
* Agricultural transportation companies.

Players could start small and expand their company over time.

9. Employee System

A deeper employee system could make large farms much more manageable.

* Hire AI employees.
* Assign employees to specific jobs.
* Give employees specific vehicles.
* Assign employees to fields.
* Create shifts.
* Assign supervisors.
* Manage employee wages.
* Track employee productivity.
* Allow multiplayer players to work as employees for another player’s company.
* Allow companies to hire new players.
* Allow players to be promoted within a company.

This could make multiplayer servers feel much more like actual farming businesses.

10. Trucking and Transportation

I would also like to see trucking become a bigger part of the farming experience.

* More semi trucks.
* More American truck brands.
* More trailers.
* Grain trailers.
* Livestock trailers.
* Lowboys.
* Flatbeds.
* Fuel tankers.
* Equipment transportation.
* More realistic hauling physics.
* Weight limits.
* Truck maintenance.
* Fuel consumption.
* Trucking contracts.
* Delivery routes.
* Longer-distance transportation.

A player could potentially operate a trucking company that transports grain, cattle, equipment, fertilizer, and other products for other farms.

11. North American Content

I would like to see continued expansion of North American farming content.

* More American equipment brands.
* More American trucks.
* More American farm buildings.
* More realistic American road systems.
* More American grain elevators.
* More American livestock facilities.
* More U.S.-style cattle operations.
* More Midwest and Southeastern environments.

12. Improved Farming Realism

More detailed farming systems could make large operations more interesting.

* More realistic soil conditions.
* Soil compaction.
* Crop rotation.
* Nutrient management.
* Variable yields.
* Irrigation.
* Drainage.
* More detailed fertilization.
* More realistic crop damage.
* More detailed weeds.
* Better crop growth.
* More realistic harvesting conditions.

13. Weather and Environmental Systems

Weather could have a much larger impact on farming.

* Heavy rain.
* Drought.
* Flooding.
* Hail.
* Strong winds.
* Snow.
* Extreme heat.
* Frost.
* Seasonal weather patterns.
* Weather affecting field conditions.
* Weather affecting crop yields.
* Weather affecting livestock.
* Weather affecting transportation.

14. Farm Construction

More detailed farm-building systems would be extremely useful.

* Custom barns.
* Custom cattle facilities.
* Custom shops.
* Machine sheds.
* Grain bins.
* Silos.
* Feed storage.
* Hay storage.
* Fuel storage.
* Employee buildings.
* Offices.
* Fences and gates.
* Custom roads.
* Larger yards.
* More realistic farm layouts.

15. Equipment Customization

More customization for vehicles and equipment would improve immersion.

* More tire options.
* Wheel configurations.
* Engine options.
* Exhaust options.
* Cab options.
* Lighting.
* Decals.
* Company branding.
* Custom colors.
* Equipment wear.
* More realistic maintenance.

16. Better AI Workers

AI workers could become much more useful on large farms.

* Better field detection.
* Better turning behavior.
* Better implement control.
* Better obstacle avoidance.
* More advanced fieldwork planning.
* Multiple AI workers working together.
* Better harvesting behavior.
* Better transportation routes.
* Ability to assign AI workers to complete an entire farming operation.

17. Improved Physics

I would like to see continued improvements to:

* Soil interaction.
* Mud.
* Tire deformation.
* Suspension.
* Trailer physics.
* Weight distribution.
* Towing.
* Heavy equipment.
* Vehicle traction.
* Hills and slopes.
* Wet-field conditions.

18. Emergency and Farm Incidents

More dynamic events could make the world feel alive.

Examples could include:

* Equipment breakdowns.
* Vehicle accidents.
* Fires.
* Storm damage.
* Flooding.
* Damaged roads.
* Power outages.
* Equipment recovery.
* Emergency livestock transportation.

These could create optional challenges without forcing them on every player.

19. Better Progression

Instead of simply buying increasingly expensive equipment, players could build an actual agricultural operation.

Start with:

* Small farm.
* Limited equipment.
* Small fields.
* Small livestock operation.

Then expand into:

* Larger acreage.
* More employees.
* More livestock.
* Multiple farms.
* Grain storage.
* Trucking.
* Contracting.
* Processing.
* Large commercial operations.

20. Server and Community Features

For dedicated multiplayer communities:

* Better server administration.
* Farm ownership.
* Company ownership.
* Employee roles.
* Permission systems.
* Server-wide economy.
* Player statistics.
* Business statistics.
* Farm financial reports.
* Activity tracking.
* Better multiplayer management.

I think these systems could create an entirely different level of long-term gameplay for Farming Simulator.

From a developer perspective, I think the most important opportunity is building systems that work across multiple maps and playstyles. Improving the underlying systems for modding, multiplayer, AI, livestock, businesses, economy, weather, and construction could allow both GIANTS Software and the modding community to build significantly more content around the game.

I really appreciate the work GIANTS Software has put into Farming Simulator 25 and the continued support of Xbox and PlayStation players.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my suggestions. I hope some of these ideas can be considered for future updates, expansions, or future Farming Simulator titles.

Respectfully,

A Farming Simulator 25 Console Player

I am not a ###### player. I am disabled and on average I put in as many hours in fs as most people do real jobs every week. I love farm sim and love the idea of improvements. But honestly, I don't wanna play the game you are suggesting. Its not a game but more of a job and it doesn't sound all that fun. C&C thought they were gonna take this route with super advanced farming mechanics and it flopped. Most people play a lot more relaxed than I do and they would NEVER play the game you are suggesting and as we know, Giants considers the ###### player to be their bread and butter.
Oh and your console would **** itself with all that running. It was a stretch getting it to run the game we have now.... just sayin.

And the nonsensical banned word of the day is.... C A S U A L

I’ve been saying for a long time the game needs to take a step forward as far as the farm management goes. They must know that your wheat yield isn’t the same every year, or the crop isn’t ready to be harvested 3 minutes after the rain finishes. This list is a lot but some good point, but also consoles would be melting down if all was implemented. But if giants and 25 new tractors and tools and say “we have improved the AI behaviour” is that really enough to keep pushing the game??

Well thought out post.
Unfortunately you don't know who you're talking to. The folks that should be listening, likely aren't.
As for replay ability, they only care that you buy the game, not what you do with it after that.
As for all the detailed options you want, your best bet is mods.
Larger maps on console? Giants says they can't. Even though there are other games with maps tens of times larger, Giants can't. Their state-of-art decades old engine has reached its limits.

Maybe someday, but don't hold your breath.
