Newbie Introduction

Post by alpha117 »

Hi All

Well, never though I would get involved in Farming Sim!
I got it in the steam sale and being a Flight Sim guy (FSX/P3D), for over twenty years, never ever though of farming.
I'm well impressed, and have learnt so much about farming in a short space of time; headlands, chaff, silage just to name a few.
Also the MODS are free, wish it was like that in flight sim.

Yes, this is a 'keeper', in fact I have not flown since getting this, so it must be good.
I have so much to learn and so many questions. One quick one, are the in game equipment prices, nearly the same as in the realworld?
I have, i think the MODs that ae the 'must haves' (CoursePlay, FollowMe, Seasons) to name a few. Maps,; also have them(Dusty Cove etc)
Been watching so much YouTube, and learning that way(DaggerWin, etc). First class work BTW.

Anyway, thought I would just post this, just in case I post some 'numpty' questions at a later stage.

if anyone has any good hints and tips for a newbie farmer that would be good

Thanks

GPS, Glance, Proseed, AIVehicle Extension, Combine addon, sprayer addon, vehicle group switcher are some of the others that I consider as essential mods and cannot play without.

Another Question!
When you go to the MOD screen(from the main screen).

What do the green/red circles mean on the categories. They have numbers in them also?
Also on some of the MODs there is a yellow diagonal line(top left) on some, what does that mean?

Thanks

Red circle means there is an update
Green circle means there are new mods you haven't seen yet

Not sure about the yellow line

The prices are close on some of the tractors, but on others it is really far off.

Well, first 3 fields sowed, grass cut and baled(Dusty Cove). liking it a lot.
Not sure what to do with the grass bales; had to go and buy a bale trailer.
Next task is to load the trailer with the bales; that should be interesting!

Yeah I'm no good with bales and a front loader  That's why I stick to auto-load trailers :wink3:
