Platinum map textures
Any chance Giants could release them for use in other maps? I really like the colors
Re: Platinum map textures
You can use GIANTS texture assemble tool, available from GDN website to alter the soil colour types to suit your preferences.BostonJohnny1226 wrote:Any chance Giants could release them for use in other maps? I really like the colors
(Please note you would also need to edit the distance texture files as well to match)

Re: Platinum map textures
I forgot to post that i ended up using it. It turned out great. i was given the heads up on AEM. For those who dont know, the tool can be found on GDN
Re: Platinum map textures
Figured I would ask here before starting a new thread. How did you install the new textures into the map? All I can seem to find is the distance.

Re: Platinum map textures
Usually the ground textures are found in maps/textures/terrain of the map. Id make a backup of the originals before replacing them
Re: Platinum map textures
The map seems to be pulling the field textures from the game files, ill keep poking for a way to point that path to a different place, or maybe giants will be kind enough to explain to us why they gave us a tool, but didnt tell use how to use it.
Re: Platinum map textures
Every mod map calls the soil textures from the ground_diffuse.dds and ground_normal.dds files found in your maps terrain folder.
The readme.txt that comes with the texture assemble perfectly explains how to make new textures.
GIANTS have given us everything we need to make new textures or alter the existing ones.

Thank you Bullet Bill, figured it out. Pretty handy tool once you get the hang of it.
Re: Platinum map textures
Yes its a great tool, many thanks to GIANTS for sharing it with us.
A good tip I've found is to save the edited textures in the texture assemble folder off separately for each mod map, in case you have different colours for different maps, and want to go back and edit them again.
