Just one or the other, if you put the two in one state of fertilization, it will have the same return as if you put one. :hi:

I would not do both at the same as it counts as one so your just wasting fertiliser and looking profit. Aa i play with periodic ploughing ans 3 stage fert. I fert before ploughing, after ploughing, and depends on seeder has fertiliser in it I would do it after. If you get into cows or pigs u get manure and slurry which u can use as a fertisler aswell

My 7-year old loves playing FS17 on his Xbox. He wants to buy a dirt bike, ATV, and / or a monster truck.

Is this possible on the XBox ?
Thanks!!

Re: New to farming? Ask questions here: Plowing and Cultivating Questions With Additional Questions

Post by ThatFarmSimPlayer »

If I am not mistaken you don't need to plow a field then cultivate it?

Basically what I do is this?

Plow
Seed
Harvest
Cultivate
Repeat without plowing.
Then after the third harvest I would plow again, that way I would get the 10% yield bonus?

If I am going to seed a different type of crop would I need to plow instead of cultivating even though it hasn't had three harvests done?

Would I fertilize the field before seeding but after plowing or cultivating or would I fertilize after seeding?

After I plow I do NOT need to cultivate?

Depends on how you want to play. Realistically you would plow then cultivate then seed. Changing crops on the same field does not reset the plowing state. So you can just cultivate. Fertilizing depends on if you have 1 or 3 times turned on. Just one can be done anytime before final growth stage.

Yes, 30% (i think) but even if you have it set to 1 fert stage you get the same bonus as if you did all three stages

with period ploughing on = 10% more yield
1x fert stage = 90% more yield
3x fert stage = 90% more yield, each stage is 30%
3x would be more realistic, but you loose more profit, if you play with seasons I would do 3x as there is a long wait to harvest them so its something to do, and its not that expensive to do 2 more,

If I plow then seed without cultivating would it make a difference, would you suggest cultivating after plowing? If so, how come?

Game wise no it won't make a difference. In real life you would cultivate after plowing to break the bigger chunks of dirt up that plowing creates

That makes since. All I half to remember is to plow the field after every third harvest to get the yeld bonus?
