3rd Party Maps ? ? ?

I've had FS17 for about (3) months, and I figured I'd try a new map. I thought all you had to do was placed map.zip files into the mod folder? I had a couple of maps that and to be unpacked, after doing so I add the zip files to my mod folder. I started my game, chose to start a new career, difficulty, etc. When I click to cycle through the maps, the only maps listed are the (3) default from Giant. None of the (7) maps I added are listed?

If you read my post that is what I did, copy/paste, and and the ones that needed unzipped I did, can did the same for those.

I have a large log file, I have lot mods right now as I getting ready to buy new equipment, once that is done about mod files will get deleted. But I use a lot of mods in my game. I've uploaded the log file to MY Google Drive, and Upload. The plan was that when I started anew map, and was done with Goldcrest, I would empty my mod folder, and delete my log file, and start from scratch. But first I need to preview some new maps.

You have a lot of garbage mods in there producing errors, unfortunately. Every line you see with Error, delete the mod it mentions, they'll cause problems in your game and might be related to your maps not showing up.

After that, rename your log.txt to log.old.

After doing all that, start the game, and after it loads, see if you can start a career with one of those maps. If not, check the new log.txt for errors and warnings, and remove the mods they reference, then delete log.txt and repeat the process until you can load your game with no errors or warnings in the log.

You can also use pastebin.com to paste the log contents (you don't need to register an account unless you want to delete it later)

I used the Free Mod Folder manager farmwrangler.com, and was able to load new maps with my mods, not quite sure what the problem is with the vanilla game not see new maps. for now I have a quick work-around.

I believe that's only with a complete exit - exiting a map back to the game menu without exiting the game will append the existing log.

I find the easiest way to determine if a map is at fault, is to move your mods to an outside folder temporarily, then place the map and only the map with no other mods in the mod folder. Then start the game. If it works, you know you have a problem with something other than the map. If it doesn't, the problem is the map. Process of elimination.

I haven't used the mod folder manager you speak of, so I don't know about that, but loading only the map will at least tell you if the map is the problem or not. If you say you were able to get it to work with the mod folder manager, perhaps there is something it is doing to your mods of which you're not aware, that doesn't happen without it, which allowed it to work...anyway, you are loading a lot of mods and some have errors, so that would be quite a daunting task to narrow down the cause...

Also, try putting your log in pastebin.com or similar (you don't have to create an account) - that file-upload dot net will trick people into downloading an exe, it's one of those shady sites...
