That statement is 1000% accurate. It's certainly made easier with practice and also a joystick makes things a little easier as well. I actually hated forestry in the beginning and swore I'd never do it again. But I took a deep breath, setup the joystick to work along side my G27 wheel and pedals and practiced. I then practiced some more and even more. I recorded a short YouTube video on how I got both working together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3_Mo9jzw2g Perhaps someone might be interested.

If you have a few problem trees (most maps do) that seem to always get in the way, then I would recommend just cutting them down as close to the ground as possible. Then (if you are on PC) use a mod like the Bruks woodchipper mounted on the front of a tractor with a tipper on the back http://lsmod2015.com/bruks-v-1-0/ Finally, come along afterwards with in game stump grinder.

Nice tutorial ... !
Actually ... some "Bruks woodchipper" mods even works as a stump grinder ... *thumbsup*
personally i prefer the FL mounted bruks choipper as it alowls better grinding at points where there are deviations in the ground comparded to the rigid front mount chipper:

At the most recent time, my favorite stump grinder - the skid steer ... *thumbsup*

i like the fact it will cut, chip (instantly), and grinfd the full product but i do like the skidsteer for other jobs aswell such as steep ground works

Practice makes perfect or so they say. Troube is, practice takes patience and I'm not the most patient person. I have a keyboard and a mouse and nothin' else so the things that require finesse are extremely difficult. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind for when I try again because I'm sure I will.

Yes I do agree, did you know that you can press K, J, M, N to use the loader? This makes it so much easier when using the loader or almost everything. I have always been doing this since it came out. J is raise loader, and N is lower loader. K and M are other things related to the loader. J can raise the discharge chute on the combine and N can lower the discharge chute on the combine. A little tip for everyone. :smileynew:

You can place trees for $7,000, but I know you want to plant instead.

On the default maps all trees are available for harvest.

The chainsaw is fairly simple to use, but there are certain things to keep in mind. Always try to make straight cuts. The logs load better, and you get more money. I roll the mouse wheel, hit the "J" key to turn it horizontal, and walk up to the tree with chainsaw to the right side, I do this by lightly tapping the keys. Once the blue halo shows up, I hit the Ctrl key to crouch and here is where you need to make sure the saw is pointing straight out from your body, and not angled down. The trees always fall to the left. or in the direction of the cut, so plan where you want the tree to fall to make it easier to cut and load, and keep it from rolling a half mile down the road. Next, rotate the saw back vertical with the "N" key, point the saw tip down at the trunk, and walk down the tree, staying on the trunk, to cut all of the branch's off. I use the STEPA FHL 13AK and the stump grinder behind a tractor. The first thing I do is grind the stump (so I don't forget), then cut up the tree, in equal length pieces (they load better). I've made up to a million in two days with nothing more than the FHL 13AK behind a tractor, the stump grinder, and a chainsaw, and it's the fastest way to make a lot of money quick to start your farm right the first time.

Anyone here run Idaho map forestry on PC ? There is no pond for logs, only the train, and not clear on details. Do I need to load logs onto the train cars ?

People. Don't forget to maintain your Chainsaw. Check the chain if it isn't dull. Clean the parts and please remember to wear your safety gear. You don't want to cut your own leg off or it's game over.

I actually had this happen to me, on a map that I had played for more than 100 hours on ...
It became unbootable ... :sadnew:
